Jordan and Red Bull will attend FIA meeting

This friday's FIA meeting will be attended by Jordan and Red Bull - despite the "gang of nine" originally planning to boycott it.

Didn't RBR sign the "new" Concorde agreement? Has Jordan/Midland?

Interesting that RBR is going its own way rather than follow Honda, given that they'll supposedly be using Honda power next year. Perhaps they have other plans beyond that? Ditto for Jordan & Toyota.

I suppose that could be a possibility. Has Cosworth committed one way or the other regarding the GPWC?

Cosworth is a neutral in all this now that Ford have sold them, the FIA probably consults them but I doubt they have any real say in anything.

Midland has made no secret of wanting Ferrari blocks for 2006 but Red Bull seem to be talking to everybody looking for a good deal, I bet they stay with Cosworth though.

Both these teams are probably keeping their options open before deciding who to side with, being new and potentially significant players. The fact that both have been linked to Ferrari engiens in teh past can't be totally a coincidence though.

I think the other part of the story is the new billionaires in the paddock want to be seen as their own men rather than being led around by the nose from the likes of Mercedes, BMW and Honda.

Of course, they've also just gone to the time, trouble and, most important of all, the expense of joining F1. They're going to turn right around & join a group that wants to separate itself from F1? I don't think so. If they weren't intent on sticking with F1, they could have waited & seen what came of the GPWC & then made their choice as to which series they wanted to join.

Actually, the grandprix.com story is a speculative story and says nothing to suggest that RBR and Jordan are breaking away from "the gang of nine" - I received the impression from reading the story that they are simply determining the best course to steer in the future and to do that, they need to hear from both sides, being the newest teams on the block (in terms of ownership).

DKGandBH has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
It seems to me that they are just sitting on the fence...

I think that this is reasonable as they are just new to the field.

These teams are new so they don't have the history of grivences, etc. Also, they are both smaller teams, Bernie cut Ferrari a sweet deal to sign up first, perhaps they're hoping for similar favor?
