That time a year again? Maybe Gordon can stay clean and keep it right side up this year. I think he is due.

In quads, there's three Uruguayans: Sergio Lafuente and Mauro Almeida with Yamaha, and Diego Javier Fernández with a Can-Am.
There's also three Uruguayans in motorbikes: Laurent Lazard and Alejo Maisonnave in a KTM, and Sebastián Fernández in a Kawaski. |

I've read that Sainz and Loeb will be driving this future look-alike vehicle

It's speculation so far, but Peugeot seems interested in racing.

He is listed with a #305 Hummer, but the car was renamed Gordini HST.
There over 10 Minis for Stéhpane Peterhansel, Nasser Al-Attiyah, Krz Holowczyc, Nani Roma, Orlando Terranova, Federico Villagra, etc. There's a long list of Toyotas, headed by Giniel de Villiers. Ford hwill have two works cars for Lucio Álvarez and Christiaan Visser. Great Wall will have Carlos Sousa and Christian Lavielle. Carlos Sainz has his Red Bull SMG buggy, which is two-wheel drive. Guilherme Spinelli will drive a Mitsubishi. |

Funny to see this thread to be so very thin. Whilst being THE biggest and most demanding rally in the world, with big names like Sainz and the baddest racetrucks around. I know, there's many a dutchmen participating but still...
Love Gordon's new racetruck/buggy. Hope he'll get himself a couple of stage wins. |

Unfortunate start to the 2014 racing season.
http://sports.xin.msn.com/veteran-da...lly-rider-dies Condolences to Eric's family and friends and to the others covering the event, that perished earlier this week. Stinks this is the first news I have been privy to for this event. |

His death was surprising, because the alert system never turned on. I'm not sure if it's activated by pressing a button or if the vehicle stands still for too long. Two journalists died as well in a road crash. |

Mini gave team orders to Peterhansel:
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/d...8260--spt.html Not good considering that Mini has a 1,2,3,4. Last edited by Starfish Primer; 17 Jan 2014 at 00:15. |

Shame X-Raid have pretty much killed the race in the cars with team orders but at the same time I guess it's to be expected - they're in this position because they've done the best job and haven't had some of the issues the others have had but it would have been nice to have had a proper race right to the finish

The drivers reactions are quite interesting aren't they? You can understand Peterhansel being annoyed but Roma isn't pulling any punches either is he?

Watching the Eurosport show last night it was all a bit chaotic - Roma saying he was going flat out and Peterhansel and the guy from X-Raid saying about the team orders and Nasser seemingly not listening.
Peterhansel is currently 6 minutes up on Roma as of Waypoint 10 today which puts him first overall by 34 seconds - wonder what is going to happen with that or have they done away with the team orders? EDIT - Seems like he started 6 minutes after Roma so caught him up and drove the rest of the way with him but in doing so has taken the lead of the rally. Bit of a disappointing end to the cars.
Do Eurosport usually provide the english-language summaries? They seemed to cover a lot less of the backmarkers and the support efforts (usually there's some info on the rolling bivouac setups) this year. |
