As with many decisions, there are significant shades of grey which contributed to the seasons experiences of KK, RML and Oak.

Remember also that the AER P41 engine programme is a North America project so any applications outside of N.A. must come with the blessing of Mazda N. America. This group of people do not always appreciate the need for speedy decision making outside their primary theatre of operations.
The first sensible thing I have read about this situation.

I think the differing opinions on this have been aired, so don't want to carry on & pollute a series thread with one issue.

But for the avoidance of doubt, I don't think anybody was questioning the factualness of Kai's statement - a mayfly has a longer life expectancy than the Mazda engine.

Is that an official photo-chop? I note the fact that it is not released by the team and has Acura logos on it, something I strongly doubt the actual car will carry. Colour me suspicious.

Hmm, seems something amove with the LMS as 2 FLM teams, 3 cars so far, have announced being on the LMS grid for 2010. Via Mariantic it seems they announced yesterday and today.

The big ol turbo inlet just a foot or so to the rear of the Acura logo should be the first tip-off. I've always like the bright RML cars with the white base color highlighted with the red and blue.

It was obvious it was a photoshop. I was asking whether RacingCrea had been commissioned to do an official photoshop.

Regarding AER, was the problem not more related to the fuel used in the LMS, rather than fundamental problems with the engine itself? Hence Dyson sticking with the unit this year over in the ALMS, with the different spec fuel (I think?)

Dyson too experienced problems. For the final two events of '09, BP fuels paid to have Dyson test experimental fuels by removing one car from the ALMS championship and using a different blend of a Green fuel. The ALMS allowed the car to race but not to score any points. I beleive the test car finished both events and was slightly faster than the official points car.

The fuel problems can be summed up best by the Mosport event. Due to yellows and pit strategies, Dyson had one of it's cars leading by close to a lap over the Fernandez Acura. The Acura chipped away at the lead as the Mazda drove around in fuel conservation mode. The TV announcers on Speed noted that Fernandez had caught the Dyson car and that on the Team Radio the Dyson crew radio'd the driver to turn up the fuel mapping for more speed to try and hold off Fernandez. Within seconds of that announcement, the Mazda engine blew large white clouds of smoke and expired. Co-incidence?

You shouldn´t say which you ignore, because that Portuguese reporter spoke with ASM previously.
