That's not how I read that article.

There are other Stigs around and any permanent replacement may be one of them, but suspect the Beeb is being inundated by applications from wannabe Stigs at the moment.

So the BBC has lost the court case and Ben is to be allowed to publish. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11151777 I wonder how big a "shock" this revelation will be in the media? I still think EP should go public about how he mooned her at TGL 2008!

At least Perry got to F1. Looking at Collins' career, 1 Ascar championship in his career and wins in various other seasons doesn't make me want to read the book. The most interesting thing he's done is having been the Stig...

Similar situation to all the trollops that & started waiving their hands in the air for media recognition when the revelations started happening about Tiger Woods & his 'secret' liaisons.... yawn....

And for a supposedly unsuccessful racing driver he apparently isn't short of a bob or two as he lives in a house which is - according to the local rag - valued at £600K. Not that anybody around Bristol actually gives a **** - see the comments!

Most of the comments were berating the paper for publishing such a non-story. "Bloke lives in same street as someone vaguely famous" is hardly award winning journalism.

The stupid thing about all of this is that most people with an inside knowledge of motor sport knew that Ben Collins was The Stig.
Most of the great unwashed who watch Top Gear and didn't know, wouldn't have know who Ben Collins is anyway!

In this instance I wouldn't take what what Stiff Petrol says as being totally impartial.

Clarkson had a go at Collins for being greedy and cashing in on his Top Gear fame, but isn't that exactly what Clarkson himself has been doing for many years. How many DVDs has he made that are basically just an extension of the Top Gear format. They may not mention the show specifically but the style is obvious and has even included guest appearances by the Stig, yet these are a commercial enterprise made outside of the BBC.
