Sorry RB I thought it was clear, I only mentioned France as an aside.

The answer to my question is, as you say, Silverstone, 5th place in a V16 BRM.

Fittipaldi, E & W, '72 Spanish is the obvious one but I know virtually nothing of the 50s era (or pre-war for that matter, bowing to Max who posted while I was still typing) so could be completely wrong?

In the mid 70's Andy Rouse used a Chevrolet Camaro & a Triumph Dolomite Sprint to win.
