Final points tally and extra cash

Help me out chaps!

During the ITV coverage on Sunday there was a little comment slipped in that mentioned that the final season's points scores have a bearing on the cash / expenses offered for next seasons travel etc.

Now I know that placings effect things like pit lane order, but how does this handout work and how much dosh are we talking?

It seems rough a rough deal to give the bigger teams even more money and then penalise the smaller one's who desperately need the cash.

Wot d'ya think?

Kex should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
"...the total TV revenues are thought to be a little over $400 million (£285 million) per annum....each teams share is therefore worth at least $17 million (£12.1 million)......Minardi probably receive about $16 million (£11.4 million) while Ferrari probably receive about $19 million (£13.5 million). And considering how little risk the teams took on in the history of the televising of F1, $17 million is hardly chicken feed".

(From F1 Racing Magazine, November 2000)

Bump those figures up a bit and thats the ballpark figure. A lot of speculation however.

I still can't get over the fact that trackside and VIP ticket revenue stays entirely in Paddy McNally's pocket - the guy really has played a blinder with that one!
