He is right behind the Williams and in front of Klien with the Minardi !!! What would he do with a competitive car !!

Bah, just sour grapes. The boy did good in a very unbalanced looking car, good luck to him!

I think this Minardi as potential but in three years time they will realise that it's outdated and build a new model that has potential. Vicious cycle.

Do you think a vicious cycle might be quicker, Skam? Seriously though, I think you are right; they are forever chasing tails; sometimes their own, but usually the grids! But, yes, I thought it was a poarticularly good effort by Albers.

This new(er) qualifying system should help the Minardis once again - they clearly aren't there on raw pace, but they can compete from here on in on strategy, etc. Still, beats being half an hour behind the pole sitter after the two laps of qualifying.

$ for $ minardi get speed and results the other teams can only dream about.
I read yesterday that BMW are spending £100mil on engine alone |

Klien probably lost half a second relative to Albers for running first, and it remains to be seen what the fuel loads are, but it was still a strong effort from Albers. The new Minardi seesm to be coming into its own now, and they're clearly not the worst team on the grid anymore.

Credit where it's due.... i didnt rate Albers at all but for him to out qualify a RBR be it on a lighter strategy is still a big achievement.... well done to him...

He was driving that car hard, sliding the tail out like the days of old, and he deserves the credit for putting that car anywhere higher than their usual position... |

A very good lap. I look forward to seeing how he goes in the race.

I have been dissapointed with Albers so far this year (relative to his team-mate) so it was nice to see that qually lap he put in yesterday. Hopefully he can spice up the Minardi/Jordan battle this afternoon.

That was the lap of the year in my opinion! You often see Schuey putting the car in places it shoudn't be, its nice to see Albers do the same! Lets hope he can get Minardi off the mark! Minadi seem to run well at Canada, Verstappen qualified 15th for the race in 2003 on merit, and I also recall that Baumgartner got a top-10 finish in last year's Canadian Grand Prix when a few of the cars were disqualified. Hope Albers gets an 8th or better to continue the trend!

Oh, didn't see qualifying. Didn't realise Klien had gone out first - not so impressive then.
