1996 Brands Hatch- The truth
We all know the massive pile-up at Brands in '96 at Paddock. Having just seen the review video I worwed out what happened.
Going into Paddock on the first lap, Menu and Ravaglia touched, both spun sideways down the hill. Leslie hit Ravaglia, who went into the gravel trap. Then the rest of the field went up to Druids. Then James Kaye, in avioding Menu, put a wheel on the grass, between paddock/Druids. He went side-ways t-boning James Thompson, Thompson spun and hit Radisich who performed a 360 degree spin. Thompson also clipped Tim Harvey, who spun and hit the barriers on the outside of Druids in his Peugeot. While that was going on, Gary Ayles bracked heavily in his Nissan and Steve Robertson ploughed into the back of him. Radisich stopped on the Cooper straight, with his Ford smocking heavily. Leslie, after hitting Ravaglia spun at Druids and got stuck on the bank on the infield at Druids. Menu got going after his spin, passing all the wrecked cars. Patrick Watts, who had a ten second penalty, passed all the battered cars and was probably thanking his lucky stars he had a ten second penalty. After all that Peter Kox lead the opening lap in only his 5th start. but the race was surprisingly stopped! Thats the Brands pile-up, I thank you! |

Episode 2- Silverstone 1994, 'The Great Sequal'
Propbably even bigger than the brands pile-up, is the Silverstone GP
support race. Going into the first corner Julian Bailey who was in 4th place, went for 3rd up the inside of Menu into Copse on the first lap. Menu choppedinfront of Bailey and clipped Bailey into a spin and went off into the copse gravel. Menu continued, but behind Mayhem. Cleland dived up the inside of Simoni and spun him. While spinning, Hoy, both Volvos, all three Nissans, Rouse, Leslie and Nigel Albon went into the gravel in aviodence. Lammers, Rydell, Hoy and Rouse continued, with Lammers carrying on dragging half a Toyota behind him! Simoni carries on smoking heavily. While Leslie, Albon, all three Nissan, Bailey and Cleland are all stuck in the gravel and are going no where. Because it was the GP meeting a lot of F1 fans watched the race. On the review video you can hear the F1 supporters cheering on the second start, going through the first corner. Knowing F1 fans they probably wanted the cars to be line a-stirn on the first start. With all three Nissans out, I bet the parts department did good business! When I was analysing the accident theres really not much to the pile-up. Simonis Alfa caused the bulk of the mayhem. The End |

Hehehe...I tried to analize the 94 GP support race crash but couldn't do it as I am too lazy to type it out. Besides, after my unfortunate escapade a few weeks ago when I analized all of the famous in-car clips, I was certain I didn't want to do it again. But, here's my 2 cents.
I thought that Simoni cut across on Cleland, thus blocking the track and making Keith O'Dor's Nissan t-bone him, sending 2 cars sideways and blocking the track even more. Cleland's spin reduced the track to nothing thus nobody could get past unless you were on the inside of Cleland. |

Thanks DNQ!
Off the start, It looks to me that Win Percy and Julian Bailey kinda "teamed up" on Kieth O'Dor, and spun him around, making him hit Jeff Allam, who spun in front of Matt Neal's BMW. Neal and Allam both made big contact, crushing the front of Allam's car. Ian Ashley and several other drivers were involved in it too, but it was minor contact and they could continue. Up ahead, Patrick Watts' Mazda's cold tires made him lose the back end of his car in a big tankslapper, making contact with Steve Soper, and Soper himself had a tankslapper, and the result was Watts going off at Sears. Brands Hatch, 1995 coming next. |

Brands '95- 'The Final Insult'
Now for the final act in mine and Radisichrox infamous series.
The Brands '95 pile-up was chaos in the wet. this is what happened. Going down to the cooper straight, for the first time, Thompson and Rydell touch. Rydell swerves infront of Radisich. Radisich spins Rydell onto the track. While Radisich pulls off, with a mix of suspension and steering damage. Rydell is facing the wrong way with the field heading his way. Hoy and Brabham go on the grass to avoid Rydell. Brabham spins on the wet grass. Further down the field, priveteer leader Matt Neal rammes Hamish Irvine up the back. Neal pulls offnext to Radisich. Harrisons Peugeot and Cecottos BMW both spin. (for reasons have yet to find out!) While, Richard Kaye and Nigel Smith get tangled up, when Neal pulls off. All the cars rejoin, apart from Radisich and Neal. Thank you and Goodbye.............till next time. P.S For anything else you'll want me to report, about the BTCC just tell me. If your confused look at my profile under occupation. |

Anyone else noticed that Menu apperas to be involved at the start of a lot of these? Brands 1995 he hit Thompson on the exit of Druids, giving JT the puncture which made him tangle with Rydell
