Stop bagging Matt Neal!

I can't believe you people bagging Matt Neal! The bloke is an outstanding talent and will add some interest to the series. We should welcome overseas drivers to race in the V8s. Open your minds people, and dispense with the Fortress Australia mentality!

Fair enough, it is good to see some Poms (apart from Russell Ingall and Barry Sheene) involved in V8s, and I wish him all the best. But I, as well as everyone else here, hope like hell that he doesn't carry on like a tool as he did at Bathurst last year....

He shouldn't be blamed for one problem, people forget that he proved quite quick in the car. I hope he does really well, but do you think he will be around next year full time or is this just him warming up for bathurst.

Yeah, I agree, we should leave him alone. Sure, he stuffed up bigtime at Bathurst last year, but that was a one off. Let's wait and see what he can do before we start bagging him again!

This sucks- he was such a good bloke to talk to today

I'd say if nothing else, he could be just what the series needs- a bad guy. Someone the crowds will get stuck into, someone who will have a red hot go....

Crash Dummy,

No one said he isn't a nice guy. But he has some less than endearing characteristics -

1. He drives people off the road when being lapped (again)
2. Some of the people were driving Fords
3. He is a Pom
4. He is a Pom
5. You get the picture (repeat previous points)

HERE WE GO AGAIN

Hi folks,
Matt KNEEL has done it again.Comes to Australia and puts his brand new, just out of the garage Big Kev Commodore into the wall. You know, he should have an advantage racing in wet weather as he comes from the country with the most miserable weather in the world!
The look on Big Kev's face said it all......
Go Home now Matt, on your knees

OK, after that little effort in qualifying, I agree - Matt Neal is rubbish.

In two appearences, he's written off a car, and almost decided the championship result by almost taking off Skaife at Bathurst. Mr Neal, V8's aren't for you !!!

Hyla Breese should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Oz needs competition

HI all. Most of you may not know who I am? My name is Hyla Breese and from Perth WA.
This is my 5th year over here in the UK after coming over after karting back home in 1996.
I've struggled with money but this year am racing in the Lotus Sport Championship which supports the British Touring Cars.

After reading your comments on Matt Neal racing over there in V8's I feel that some of your comments are harsh and incorrect.
Guys/girls, I'm an ozy, but always see the chip on the Ozies shoulders about the Brits. Yes I love winding up the Brits when we beat them at most sports. However, when it comes to motorsport, the Brits know what they are doing.
Ozy V8's need a more international driver line up to make it more widely known to the European press. At the moment, people here have heard of V8's but not ever seen one or know who the drivers are. If there were more Brits and/or Italians, Germans whatever, the coverage would be more widespread and in turn would give ozy drivers more of a chance to move on and race overseas in Sportscars and GT's etc. At the moment it's a very closed off series.

Next year I'm looking into Brit or European Touring Cars, even the German DTM or FIA Sportscars. However, later in my career, going back home to Ozy V8's would be nice.
Marcus (Ambrose) had to do it last year. Theres my old sparring kart partner Garth Tander down there doing well.

So guys, OK Matt Neal sounds like he has cocked up a bit, but after all ,this is the guy that won outright at Donington in a privateer Nissan against the factory boys a couple of years ago.
You all have your views on Matt, but don't tar every Brit or foreign driver with the same brush coming into Ozy V8's. It will destroy the credibility Australian motorsport has over here, or I should say, the small amount we have at present.

Good to talk to you all. I look forward to the replies. :-)

Regards

Hyla Breese

Name a driver that hasn't had a spin coming off the dogleg. If it wasn't so muddy on the infield, there's a good chance he would have had enough control not to hit the wall or at least hit it so hard.

And he complained about the bad weather while I was next to him, so I had to say he should be used to it.

John Cleland would be fantastic, or any QUALITY overseas driver.

That would keep Hyla happy too.
