2003 Power outputs

Is there any source for reliable info on the power outputs of the 2003 LMPs.

For example I've seen the Lister quoted as having anything from 500 to almost 570 BHP.

Likewise the R8 anything from 550 to 590.

A post, I belive from Andy Thorby, said the 2003 cars were producing around 600bhp while the 2004 spec cars would be producing around 650bhp.

Anybody have any info on this?

The Lister was realistically putting out only 510 hp. The R8 on the other hand was generating close to 600, though their PR releases only said 550.

As for reliable sources, their simply aren't any.

More power in '04 comes from the reintroduction of '02 restrictor sizes.

And does anyone know what restrictor size the 'Hybrid' LMP900s will run in comparison to 2003 Grandfathered cars and new 2004 spec cars in 2005/6

Yes indeed - and this applies also to GTS and GT. Will be intresting to see how much faster the Prodrive Ferrari 550s are over the 2003 times they produced.

The GTS cars seem to produce around the 600BHP+ power even with 2003 restrictors, maybe because of a slightly larger restrictor than LMP900s.

DOn't know if 2004 GTS cars will have the 2002 spec restrictors as the new 2004 spec LMPs will.

Does anyone actually know the restrictors the Hybrid cars will run in 2005/6. It is 2005 when the grandfathered cars will be clobbered with smaller retrictors and more weight etc.

Are the performance benefits actually worth updated an LMP900 to a hybrid car.
