Alan Brown should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1970 sprint results

MN 25-6-70 reporting the Blackpool Sprint of 14-6-70 said that Tony Harrison was the only championship runner. Paul Pycroft (BRM) who retired on his first run with a fire, was presumably another entrant. How does this accord with your files?

MN 9-4-70 had P Nally 5th in 76.39. This is presumably a misprint.

MN's resume of the season contained within its survey of the 1970 hill climb review (14-1-71) painted quite a bleak picture for the first year of the championship. But things got better.

MN 9-4-70 had P Nally 5th in 76.39. This is presumably a misprint. No one of that name was registered!

I have thumbed through MN and Autosport on several occasions and will probably have another go through in the New Year!

Thanks.

07/09/75 Wroughton organisers unknown - I have the 1-4 but no times for any. Also suspect there should be more runners.

MN 18-9-75 Invaders MC Wroughton Sprint - Dave Harris (McLaren) collected FTD (1 16.0), beating Jonty Williamson's Surtees by 8 seconds, lapping the 2.16-mile circuit at 102.3 mph. No mention of RAC round.

Alan, missing out references to the British Sprint Championship was not uncommon, especially where the reporter is a club member. The FTD time quoted in the report might not even have been from the run-off as a lot of clubs do not include these times when it comes to FTD awards. However I will try to track down the Invaders MC!

Thanks, Steve
