Fatal Tragedy at Brighton Speed Trials 2012

2012 : Event : A day of sunshine , sadness & tragedy

Although this year there was a delayed start runs were back to normal by midday.

Sadly by the end of the day Roger Hollingshead has been critically injured and his sidecar passenger Charlotte Tagg lost her life at the scene as their sidecar rig failed to stop at the end of the track on Madeira Drive, and smashing into a barrier with tragic consequences.

All at Brighton and Hove Motor Club and the Vintage Motorcycle Club are in shock : Messages of condolence are being left at both clubs Facebook pages.

Our coverage of the event is available as usual <link> but as result of the tragedy it is a sad but timely reminder to us all that Motorsport is dangerous.

All who know hope and pray that the Roger recovers and my sincerest condolences to Charlotte's family.

Ex User should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I was at Brighton last weekend, I spoke to charlotte 5mins before they went out for their run which unfortunatly turned out to be her last. I had only known her 10mins but she was such a fun, caring person and had such a passion for what she was doing.

My thoughts go out to her family and friends.

RIP charlotte
