Nic Hamilton must've done about 1 lap today... not his fault to be fair, just a hopelessly unreliable car!

Very pleased for Cook, he needed that! And today I think we saw the Ingram of past seasons, himself and Butcher may have given them a lifeline in the championship.

What's wrong with Tingram doing well?

Thruxton just reaffirmed that it's pants for actual racing today. And it's not going to be much better at the point and squirt of Silverstone next week. Ford triple win anyone?

The incident with Alex Jay in the last Mini race had a real air of inevitability about it. As he showed in the previous race, he seems to drive like he's playing on his Xbox. He has some raw pace, but he needs a serious talking to before he's allowed back on a race track.

Interesting day.

Matt Neal was excellent, drove superbly and looked like the chap who used to win championships.

Tingram and his car were super, and I particularly enjoyed his close racing with Ash Sutton in the final race.

Rob Austin was a pleasant surprise, looked clean, in control and pretty quick all day long.

Has Nic Hamiltons budget been hoovered up by the accident repair? Looked like he was only there to briefly circulate before stopping each race. I know #HARD run on small budgets, but was the car really that badly prepped/ running end of life bits?

My biggest disappointment this year, the AmD Civics, continue to disappoint sadly.

Maybe the introduction of a class-based scoring system might give you something positive in the BTCC?....

It was mentioned that his clutch was slipping during the first race, I would of thought a team could change a clutch during the course of the afternoon even if it meant missing the second race. I suspect Team Hard don't have a spare racing clutch and it was just a case of send him out and see if it fixes itself.

I have heard rumours, from a previous season, of the team running second hand/used brake pads and discs they have bought from other teams.

I used to kart with him, and he was exactly the same then. Very little racecraft, you never really felt like you were going to make the next corner with him behind you.

God knows what he was thinking. Paul's reaction was very satisfying though!

You'd like to think that being humiliated and then scolded on live tv might make him learn a lesson, but sometimes, you just know that nothing is going to get through. See also: Ticktum, Dan.

Don’t usually comment on specific drivers and I don’t really have grounds to pass comment but to be honest Andy Neate has to be the most useless driver I have seen in the BTCC for many a season.
What was he doing today....

He did finish 18th in race 3, hardly stunning when your team mates were 3rd and 13th I admit, but at least he didn't run out of talent like he usually does.

The issue with Nic's car today was with his hand operated clutch, same issue all day unfortunately despite having the engine and gearbox out and back in after race 1.

Looking like Neate isn't going to receive a penalty so presumably TOCA have looked at it. Which means it was just a really **** piece of driving rather than deliberate.

It was probably argued that Neate out braked himself resulting in him hitting Boardley the first time, Boardley then got a bit of a tank slapper on recovering from the tap, being a RWD, and Neate had no where to go, resulting in the second contact.

Result: NFA.

He is fast and courageous in his overtakes to be fair but he has made one or two errors by trying to drive as hard and fast as possible every lap. Imagine how could he can be if he balanced that with conservatism to see out races. Not sure if his style of driving was the ultimate cause of his punctures or not but just my view

If that's the case, then that's a complete joke. Neate couldn't have been any more blatant, was clearly steering away from the racing line and into Boardley,

Neate has been disqualified from the whole meeting after race 3...

C 1.1.4 acting against the interests of motorsport.

C 1.1.9 Abusive language, behaviour and physical assault.

Class act (not).

The right decision, I'm not one of those who usually knocks him but his actions today were disgraceful.

interested to know the story behind that one in particular, but if they have to pull out that end of the rule book someone's been a real piece of work to deserve it.
