there is plenty of room, the issue you may have is the one way system. depends on when thats running and what time you need to move but generally i wouldn't have thought it to be a problem.

I agree with earlier comments about the atmos on the campsite, it is a big part of the attraction.I have also given up on bringing to much in the way of food-there is plenty readily available at the circuit and village.

It's been a few years since doing the Silverstone F1. My question is that I normally leave on the Sunday Night after some of the crowds have gone, this year it may be ideal if I leave with the caravan on Monday morning, so.....
Can I leave on Monday morning? Are the toilet and shower facilities still available? |

...although they tend not to be serviced on the Monday morning so there isn't always toilet roll and it all starts to get a bit mucky. It's usually OK though...

Just a quick question from a GP newbie, what access do we have to the paddock area etc when we have finished for the day for having a look around and taking a few piccies? Thanks for replys in advance and looking forward to it and seeing you all there!

I cant remember access to the F1 paddock and i very much doubt there is. GP2 is very limited aswell but the Porsche one i seem to remember is more lax but don't quote me on that. 2 yrs ago there was a marshals pit lane walk on the Friday night but dont know about last year and whether it will happen this year.

Unfortunately those days in F1 are long gone, even for us. There was a marshals only pit lane walkabout last year and, presumably there will be one this year, otherwise, "if you don't have the right pass, you ain't getting in".

If there is a historic support race then their paddock has been open for the last few years, and well worth a wander down, they are a friendly bunch and allways happy to chat.
Not sure how they will work it this year though as where they did have their paddock is now part of the Arena circuit Last edited by Ian Briggs; 14 May 2010 at 08:45. Reason: speeling eeerors |

I think we blew the "F1 Paddock" access when we nearly ran down Ken Tyrell in the early '90s doing the "Fire Patrol". From one day to the next we were told not to go into the F1 Paddock and that hasn't changed to this day. Sorry!
Re toilets etc - try doing Le Mans when you're camping for a week with one Portaloo!!!! |

Re caravan plots... can anybody tell me if, in addition to my car and 20ft caravan, I'd have room for a small tent sort of 2/3 man size?

The plots are usually somewhere around 10x10m square'ish. There are usually spare plots around and most people work well with their neighbours.

On the old field I've had caravan + awning + car + small tent. I don't think they're any smaller on the current one.

just as well we all know this
40.13 If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking. |

There's very obviously a green flag waving - safe to resume racing...

even racing in national series waving a green flag after a safety car deployment does not mean that racing recommences until a specific point has been passed. In this case..see a million arguements elsewhere.
BTW I'm 100% with the stewards decision. Not the penalty perhaps.. |
