Are there many karters still on here?

Or has this area of the site been dead for some time? Just wondered as looking to talk to other karting drivers

Cheers

not much to talk about in karting in the off season, with it being not like f1, karts dont really under go lanches etc .

but yes im a karter, moved fom junior tkm 4 stroke to seniors this year. looking forward to the start of the season in a few weeks.

Still here, race Briggs flathead and Animal on dirt ovals and Tag in road race. Not much to talk about in Kansas in February. Race on!

I think they're all scribing on karting.co.uk. There's a big debate going on right now over the efforts [or lack of it] of the MSA in developing karting in Britain. With a growing number of people going outside the MSA for their racing, the press release below was issued... specifically it would seem targeted at karting. Maybe a new thread should be started on this topic.

On topic, I'm doing Club100 again this year: a third season of enduros and, for the first time, the sprint events too.

Sprints Rd 1 at Buckmore in the wet didn't go too well--caught in someone else's accident in heat 1, and dropped it in heat 3 trying to pass two people at the second haripin on the final lap. Qualified 21st for the A final, but managed to get up to 8th place by the finish, which probably isn't too far off where I'd have been had I qualified more representatively. Roll on round 2!

Ah it was you Dan who beat me. I came 9th in the LW's, with a kart 2secs off the pace, having had fastest lap in my heat i won.... Strange day as karts seems to have a big spread on them.

More of the same racing at Whilton in a couple of weeks!!!

I knew I recognised the name Tony Simpson from somewhere!

Yes, I came past you at Garda a couple of laps from the finish, although not entirely intentionally (I jinked to the inside to avoid hitting you under braking, then realised there was just as much grip there as on the wet line I'd been running all day!).

I didn't have any complaints with the karts, but I was surprised to see Zac Seward heading backwards in the A final after a great performance in the heats--I'm guessing he must have had some kind of kart problem.

See you at Whilton.

bit vague. first we would have to knwo your age and where your from to give you a good starting place.

first thing is whats you age?
if your between 6-12 then cadets is for you and your choices are: wtp, comer and hona

if your between 12-16 then its something called jnrs and your choices then become: Mini-max, jnr max, jnr tkm 2 stroke, jnr tkm 4 stroke, jnr pro-kart, royales, jnr biland, jica and more which i havnt thought of.

if your over 16 then you choice become even more: Snr rotax max, snr tkm 2 stroke, snr tkm 4 stroke, snr pro-kart, world formula, Biland, formula a (kf1), ica (kf2), formula blue

if your over 17 or 18 you also get the choice of gearbox classes.

Then it comes to where your from?. Some places only have a few tracks which will limit you to where you can go, but other areas have multiple tracks which open up your choices.

Once we find out these two things we can help you out alot more and give better advice, also your height and weight becomes a factor.

(sorry if sounds off putting but for the best answers we need to know all this)
