Chat Room 15-18th Oct

Unfortunately, we're having troubles in that the chatroom links aren't currently working. It is unlikely that this problem will be fixed before MagnetOn and EvilPumpkin return from the FF Festival. If you wish to join us, you still can, but you need an IRC client (for example mIRC for windows users). Once you have a client, you need the following server information:
server: irc.phishy.net
port: 6667
channel: #motorsport

I hope this doesn't put you off too much

ok, here they are (with pictures

firstly, it your new to mirc, read the first 3 steps of this article guide to setting up mirc once you have read this, continue here for instuctions on joining the 10/10ths chat room

1) open mirc, click the tools menu, and select options. you should see this...

2) Click add, then fill out the boxes as follows:

then click add

3) you should now see this:

click the button "Connect To Server"

4) after lots of mad beeping you should see this:

in the text box you need to type "/join #motorsport" (without quotes), and press enter

5) if you see something like this:

conratulations, you've made it

if not, feel free to send me a pm, and i'll see what i can do

it seems my thoughts of the links being broken all weekend were a little premature, everything is back in order, but still give mirc a try, and come visit us :P

Yep, definitely useful - may help get a connection through work poxy [sic] servers etc!

garcon, best way to connect through proxy servers is to use the client on the chatroom section of the website

click the "Chat Room" link from the menu bar above, then chose the "join in" link from the left hand menu. This is also the way we recommend new users to see what happens in teh room

I can't get in that way at all!

I get a message saying I'm not logged in or don't have permission.

Hey!! Well, thanks to kicking-back I'm now on mIRC!

Trusting soul that I am, I let him remote onto my PC and he sorted it in under 5 minutes. Being thick when it comes to technology I was extremely grateful!

By heck, it's much quicker than the old system I was using but I can always keep that as a stand by I suppose.

If it's payable software, then you should pay. There are free IRC clients out there if you don't want to pay the charge. www.newircusers.com has a good collection of links for free IRC Chat Clients (and also some very helpful information about IRC in general!).

10-Tenths doesn't condone unlicenced software.

Then I shall most certainly stop using it when my 30 day trial period is up.
