FRENTZEN RACING AT PROST GP FOR $0 - Why are you doing it, Heinz-Harald???
According to this week's Autosport magazine, Heinz-Harald is having his expenses covered by Alain Prost's team but is not receiving any other form of payment. The German has been driving for Prost since his departure from Jordan earlier this summer, and will reportedly be given a $95,000 bonus by his new team for every point he scores. Despite an impressive qualifying performance which saw him line up 4th on the grid at Spa, Heinz-Harald has yet to score a point for Prost, and the magazine reports that details of his financial agreement with the French team have come to light as a result of his decision to try and claim compensation from Jordan.

IMHO I think it is a good idea..HHF wishes to have his face seen around the right side of the pit wall..The guy is good and deserves a seat for next season, people don't allways do things for the money do they..I am sure he is not hurting!

i agree with Jersound - he is better to be seen driving a **** car rather than no car at all! i heard he sued jordan for $7.5 million, so i don't think he will suffer too much!

That could be good news, but man, I think is a downhill with no return. He got his big chance with Williams and Jordan and now, people are not giving him credit, specially when talented young drivers are doing great jobs...

At this point he's just treading water, but as Jiggles said, better a lousy car than none at all.
Maybe he can impress Peter Sauber enough to end up back at the Swiss Team. |

Besides, he has to be impressing the teams the way he's driving the Prost.
He's going like heck IMO. |

Geez...that explains why Prost could have HHF in his car!~
But a nice move by HHF...in this money-first business of F1. Hope he shines in Prost before he is superceded by the young guns!~ |

He's a racer, thats why he is with Prost. I'm sure he'd rather drive than not. I expect him to sign with a better team next season. I also think Sauber would be a good match.

My sentiments exactly. HHF was dumped unfairly by EJ (and Alesi hasn't exactly said the world alight yet) but has proven at Prost that he's a true racer, and in only 3 races has arguably done a better job.
Where he ends up next year is now the mystery? Sauber is possible, but would PS want two German drivers (although if they have got Mercedes next year in exchange for Kimi, then it would be reasonable). |

Frentzen has in my mind been one of the brst drivers in the alst 3 races, he has really got a spark back and has easily outperformed Alesi. Harry-Heinz needed to race again this eyar to give hismelf a chance of drivign next year. Oh and Luca, I'm sure he isn't impoverished....

He's keeping his hand in, which is as good an idea as any, but I think that with the amount of young talent around these days (some already in F1, some in F3000) he's had his chance now. It's a shame, but if he doesn't retire this year he will at the end of next year.

Still wouldnt you drive a Prost for nothing. Plenty would pay for the chance. |

It's better to be in a formula one car than sitting at home watching it on television out of sight and out of mind of all the team bosses.
