I saw today on another forum that the Calder round is off and they might be looking at either Barbagallo or Oran Park as a replacement.

As much as the Oran Park round would be convenient for me, the track and facilities are very run down and Barbagallo is so far, especially if we go to the Kings meeting too.

Was surprised that Calder Park was on the calender to start with. Is Oran Park still around or have the developers moved in?

Round 2 of the championship is on this weekend at Symmons Plains, Tasmania - great track for high speed bike racing

Oran Park is still around, but is very run down. This is supposed to be the last year of operation, but so was last year and 2007 as well. The developers have been made to wait as the water/power/sewer is not ready to take that many new houses yet and the track is booked up every weekend and most weekdays so they have kept going for now.

Calder was all talk about track upgrades earlier in the year to get MA licencing but it appears to have stalled. There is meant to be a round of the Victorian motorcycle championships two weeks before but I wonder if that's off too.

I haven't been to Simmons Plains yet but those who have like it so maybe it will be on our calendar one year.

Racing at Symmons Plains was stopped after a fatality in the Supersport race. A sad day for motorcycle racing in Australia.

I heard about the crash from RACESAFE crew at Winton on the weekend, every fatality affects all motorsport, even those who have no interest in the particular category.

Former Supersport Champion & Superbike #2 Shannon Johnson returns to the series on a Honda Supersport bike - got a foto of Shannon on the KTM Superbike at Winton 2 weeks ago, nice bike too...

Does anyone know what happened to the Qld round of the FormulaXtreme that was to take place this weekend at QR??? It seems to have disappeared of calendars but I have not seen any news of a cancellation...

Is it going ahead, and if not - why not???

More news, the last round originally scheduled for Calder is now at Phillip Island on the 27-29 November. No conformation of what classes yet. The only problem is that it clashes with the Kings of Wanneroo meeting.
