IFRYCE should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
hi guys don't know where to put this thread, so here will do :D

g'day guys, i'm new to the forums and didn't really find a place for this, so decided to put it here

just wanted to know your thoughts of the sport, art, what ever you will call it, of "drifting"

i'm from Australia, and in the past year or so, drifting has become a national sport, with regular national competitions with professional Japanese drifters coming out to demo their stuff here. With it becoming a much more serious, more competetive and much more professinal sport, just wanted to see what you guys thought of it all, whether it's your cup of tea or not

personally, i am a fan of it.. my brother has competed in a national competition, qualifying first, only to be disqualified for spinning out.. although i'm more attracted to circuit racing for myself, i do love the sport of drifting and find it quite fun, and these days quite intense

any feedback would be tops

Cheers
Ben

It's a competion to see how far out of shape you can get your car. I believe there's an event at Brands next week.

Personally Ican't think of anything more tedius. Why not just race the car?

But each to his own I guess.

BTW. As this is a road car based "sport" it might be better in that forum.

Not really 'racing' as such. Perhaps better in Road Car...

To be pedantic, shouldn't the Racers forum be for competitors in all forms of motorsport?

We could end up playing 'thread tennis' with this one...
but I'm reasonably happy for it to stay here for now.

It is also starting to make some appearences in America. Personally I don't understand the point of it, it seems like a lot of effort to prep a car when you could actually be racing it in the traditional sense. It might be fun to watch as a novelty though, kind of like a figure-8 race or a demo derby.
