See, the word is getting around, it's the place to be...

Stable rules, reasonable cost, and more places to race... Where else can you get a deal like this. And there's still June, for when Alfa makes known their plans.
Just gets better and better...

I'm sure Hindy has suggested a few ideas in the past. Would be interesting to see Hyundai try their hand at sportscars, although it would surprise me considering how involved they are in rallying. I'm not sure they would necessarily want to divert their attention from that

Isotta test at Monza. The sound is kinda terrible on this. I'm hoping Bozzy is there for some better video.

I wonder is the WRC effort is making no difference to i20 sales, and so Hyundai are thinking of alternatives.

As a motorsport fan I should not say this but I doubt motorsport in this era has much influence on sales.

Mostly, it depends on what type of vehicle you are looking to market or upgrade. Sport coupés, sedans, and even estates(wagons) were long ago the hot tickets for this. Now, its SUV's of every size. Most have either V6s or V8, super or turbo charged. Add in 4WD/AWD systems, with hybrid electric as the proverbial cherry on top, and there you go.

By making racing the sales point for all this, you can show that it makes the connection between the racetrack and the dealers showroom floor, and possibly, your driveway. It's "show on Sunday, sell on Monday", rather than win.

Amd for this dire state of affairs do we blame the marketers or the consumers?

It feels to me a bit like the safety car breeding the safety car scenario in that once the seal is broken with one niche, others follow and people lap it up.

What is the deal with offering LMH and LMDh cars to private teams? Is there a fixed price or a guide price?

Mercedes seems to think it works. Ok, maybe just the pictures but I pass 2 dealers most days and the pictures of the GT3 and GT4 AMGs are huge and all over the back walls so you can see through the windows.

So they could likely do the same with just drawings and most buyers would not know the difference but they're at least using it. Doubtful they make their money back at all in it but folks don't get into automotive areas without having some level of interest you would assume and as long as they work for the manufacturer and move up we could get more racing. Maybe that's Audi, all the racing minded engineers have moved to Porsche so Audi and VW are left adrift

I don't believe there is any requirement to sell cars in either class, and no price guidance if a manufacturer decides to sell cars.

The way it looks right now is that LMH builders are bringing independent teams to run their cars by agreed contract, such as BMW with WRT next year, Isotta Fraschini with Vector Sport, Prema with Lamborghini, and AF Corsa with Ferrari. Peugeot is the only LMH that has sold/rented their offering along with Glickenhaus. Toyota, along with Alpine when theirs debuts next year, are an "in house" operation.

As for LMDh, all four present manufacturers involve chosen teams as runners for their offerings, with Porsche selling to private operations

The difference in the pricing between the two that LMDh is more up front about the main parts and systems that go into its production. LMH is more confidential.

I think we'll have to wait and see what really happens there. It might just be the third car run entirely by Peugeot but with Pescarolo's sponsorship and "branding" on the entry list.

If an indie team takes ownership of a LMH or LMDh car are they free to make changes to their car independent of the main team running the cars in the championship? Say if Toyota sold a car to United Autosport, could United go their own way with tech changes?

The cars are homologated in 5 year windows. No significant changes can be made without official approval. I would assume any updates would have to be applied across all cars whether run by the factory or a privateer.

Far from confirmed I think. Looking for budget is a more positive way to say "we have no budget".

Would be shocked if they made the grid.

Especially since the Pug is not exactly setting the world on fire. Investing a couple of millions in a race project is one, pouring it into a non-competitive car is another.

Let's wait until Le Mans before a final judgement on this car. The crucial thing will be their reliability as the car is racing for one year already and had some major issues in that aspect in the previous races. If Peugeot finally manages to sort this out, all their car needs is a BOP break to have competitive performance. If not, then indeed it's a shitbox that's doomed.

I really don’t think their performance at LeMans will be anything amazing. With a formula that specifies a minimum drag and set engine performance there isn’t a lot they can do, as their straightline speed so far has been pretty poor. The Pug therefore in my opinion will really suffer down the mulsanne - due to getting poor exits out of the chicanes but may pick up some speed in the Porsche Curves (maybe).

I'm with Sodemo there, if they didn't improve at Spa what's to make us, or sponsors, think LM would be better.
