Help ! Cadwell Park BARC 9th.May

I know, these threads are getting plentiful and boring. But we have to try all methods available to get our message to the right people, and this Forum is by far the best available. So here goes.

Yet another plea for help at all levels and all disciplines for the BARC race meeting at Cadwell Park on May 9th.

We need more Observers, more Flag Marshals, more Incident Marshals, more Start line Marshals, a Marshal in the Pits would be a bonus, and more help in Assembly.

Apart from those duties listed above, we are O.K.

Nine races with a very workable timetable, the highlight of the meeting must be the Legends making a welcome return visit to Cadwell.

Sign-on in the Hospitallity Unit in the Assembly area is between 07.45 and 08.20, Practice 09.00 to 11.45, 1st.Race at 12.00 noon, lunch break (guaranteed) 12.30 to 13.15, Race 2 at 13.30 followed by the remaining 7 races.

Please can you help ?

If you can, please get in touch with me asap. If not, then perhaps you can help us out on another occasion.

Take care, John Watson

I'll be there (as usual). The more help we can get means the fewer jobs I have to do!

Greetings you Highness,

Thanks for offering your services, passes in the post.

And yes, we are really short, so your other half would be most welcome.

Unfortunately it is. Its one of those weekends when carrots get topped and tailed and scattered to the four corners. Its going to be a pretty thin gruel that we have for nourishment.

Anyone willing to put money on drivers taking note of circumstances and behaving themselves this weekend.

Hopefully everyone had a reasonable day despite the Legends entertainment (or should that be because of?).

I certainly discovered the grass was slippier than I thought and that was before it started raining!

May I pass on the thanks of us folks to all you folks and hope to see you all for the 750 "bash" on the short circuit on 5/6 June (Did someone mention D-Day??)

Is 'BASH' the right word to use considering Stock & Hot Hatch and Locost's.

Hope everyone had a reasonable day, thankfully I left my pork pies at home, otherwise the Legends might have made it past post 1 to the lure of the pie at post 2!

Can anyone who was up at post 8 / 9 advise why the doctors car was sent up there - the driver looked to be out with no immediate panic, but it just seemed strange - if it's not suitable for posting on here then don't bother, just being curious / nosey.

Al.

Many thanks to all of you who gave of your time and expertise that enabled this meeting to be the success that it was. The Senior BARC Officials in attendance were most impressed by your efficiency and competence in keeping the meeting pretty well on schedule in somewhat changeable weather conditions. Well done all of you.

I told you that you would have a lunch break, so to those that did not believe me Also had it not been for the last Legend race incidents, you would of been on your way home well before 6.00pm. But 6.20pm wasn't so bad was it, considering that there were in the region of 9 cars involved in the Start Line shunt. For this we can thank Chris Coote Recovery and the Rescue Units for the rapid clear up that enabled the Legends to get a re-start and complete their race at the end of the programme before the curfew kicked in.

In answer to your question Alan, the Doctors car was scrambled out to Post 8 because the report we got indicated that the driver stayed in the car for some considerabl time, when he did get out and sat on the tyre wall he appeared to be in a distressed state. ( This could of been medical or emotional, nobody knew ! ). Being on the outside of the circuit it was difficult to get a marshal to him safely, so better to be safe than sorry the Doctors Car was the best and quickest option to find out if he was o.k. without having to stop the race.

Once again, thank you.

Thanks for the thanks John but there was only one unit down at the legend incident, mind you at the time we were carrying 3 doctors one paramedic and a crew of five.
You can blame a certain CMO he wanted two of the doctors to see what a race chase was like. Strange they didn't come out to play again.
A certain Cler of the Course did say to us that the reason they sent the doctors car out was so they didn't have to wake up the rescue units.
Didn't reply as he must have forgotten that it was two BRSCC units covering a BARC meeting (waits to get replies from BARC crews)

Well, the Clerk would say that because he knows that there is no chance of waking a BRSCC crew! Whereas the highly efficient BARC crewmembers are always poised for action like coiled duvets!
