I think the interesting time is from Alex Lloyd - ahead of Lewis Hamilton - admittedly only by a very slim whisker.

Talking of F3 the winter seies thing at Rockingham is off, because they havn't modified the first corner (we have lift off).
Couldn't they have used the 'bike' circuit, without the Turn 1 chicane, to keep everybodt happy ??? |

Msa rules only allow one banked corner (turn 4) to be used by cars not specifically built for oval racing, so the cars can't use turn 1 apart from lap1.

Sid, that's why I suggested the bike circuit - which doesn't use oval turn 4 - so they could then use oval turn 1 without chicane and keep MSA happy.
Anyway winter F3 series seems a bit unnecessary anyway, so no matter. |

Where does it come out onto the start finish straight if it doesn't use turn 4?

Is wiggles behind the pits, goes across the existing (oval) pit entry road, and rejoins at the start of the S/F straight (ie exit of turn 4). Have a look at a circuit map, with all the unused bits shown.

If true, I'm quite relieved that the winter series at r'ham is off - I was only going out of a sense of loyalty to F3 and it was way too close to me leaving for Macau!

Macau's web site: http://www.macau.grandprix.gov.mo
Winter Series: I haven't heard anything yet about it being off so I'm still going with my bobble hat and mittens. Colin McRae's going to be driving a Porsche in the 1 hour race (Rockingham 1st Nov). It'll be worth going just for that. ;-) Last edited by Muppet; 17 Oct 2003 at 17:31. |

Hi Dangerous games,
From past experience the Macau website that Muppet has posted the link for doesn't usually have live timing, but the results are normally posted pretty quickly - I once printed them from there while in the Macau press room waiting for the sheets to be photocopied! Also, MST will have results from Macau. www.mst-group.co.uk For info on the Korea race, the official site can be found at http://www.f3korea.net/eng/eng_index.htm Both the Macau and Korea sites will have a pop-up telling you that you need to download the relevant text display. Cancel this, they both have perfectly good English versions. Have fun exploring the sites... I also started a thread last week with the Macau entry list and will update it as and when I receive press releases from the Macau media office. |

I've just realised that the link in Muppet's post is the general Macau GP one. There is a site specifically for this year's 50th GP. You can get to it from the other site, but this link will take you straight there.
