It's something you see every weekend in club racing at every track on TSL. "Car number XX please fit a working transponder." It's a five minute job. That they haven't sorted it seems like a choice.

I hate to be the guy with the tin foil hat but I did wonder that earlier. It's Thompson's first time in the car and it was a late call up so lots of interest in how he does. Give him the morning session without published times to get him up to speed and away from scrutiny, just as would have happened if he had at an earlier test day.

I know last year most teams started testing without them.

According to the video Bobby's put on Instagram he's not running hybrid hence why no times on TSL.

I see they are experimenting with using electric power on the way to the grid again. Which is what a test day is for.

Thought a lot of the teams were very un-fan friendly today with the garage doors at the rear remaining closed… maybe it was to do with the weather, but Speedworks manages to give the public a glimpse of inside the garage.

Trouble is on test days, Media Day etc some fans think it's OK to just wander in and out of garages, don't blame teams for wanting a bit of privacy (and security)

Struggling to get parts etc. Got to feel for DeLeon, he's such a talented driver who has been sold a dream, but it's good that the DeLeon family own the actual car.

I really feel for Daryl , he's clearly a talented driver at a young age but he's being completely messed about already before the season starts. Shame he couldn't have landed somewhere else on the grid but if the deal is that him and his family are still owed money from last season I understand it from a moral perspective.

There's more to it than just 'haven't put the car together yet'. Other teams have already started testing and they haven't even got 1 car built, hardly a great start to the season is it? Can you imagine Sutton or Ingram having to sit out the first official test session because their car wasn't put together yet?

The reasons why Tony Gilham and / or Team Hard should not have been allowed back in this year are well documented and plentiful.

I imagine as the days / weeks tick by, we’ll start to see that a lot of those reasons were well justified.

It’s just a circus. ‘We’ve learned our lesson from running 6 cars and getting burned so we are just gonna run 2’ - they can’t even get that right.

It’s a shambles.

Not sticking up for Team Hard or Gilham I personally think they shouldn’t be anywhere near any championship but they chose to sit yesterday out but will be at Croft next week

Autosport have a good summary of yesterday's test. One interesting line is "the WSR BMW of Bobby Thompson, on board for the test only at this point, was not timed because it is not fitted with the Cosworth electric hybrid system, but Autosport understands that even without this he set a lap that would have placed him inside the top 10."

Fingers crossed they can have the car built and out on track at Croft. Bearing in mind they couldn't have it ready for a test less than a mile from their premises, I won't hold my breath.

Fantastic to see, I was told what times he was doing and his quickest was indeed inside the top 10. I'd love to see him in that car for the year.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bobby in that car, he seems to be the No 1 candidate at this stage
