Mosley says "its time to slow the cars down"

I hear that Mosely is considering measures to slow the cars down, and that he thinks that F1 cars should have around 700BHP and thinks that 900 BHP is just too much.

Dr. Austin should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Great! Maybe we can get them to adopt the IRL formula and they can have great racing again.

They could also drive around in circles for hours. That would produce some close racing! hahaha...

seriously though... perhaps they could reduce the power of the engines...and at the same time they could bring back slick tires! I think that would be much appreciated... mind you, considering all of the major steps that have been made in aerodynamics and tire compounds over the last two years...slicks might be kind of scary!

Number Juan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
if you slow the cars down, you reduce the amount of drag on the cars therefore reducing oppurtunities to get a good slipstream...ever! which means the races will be more of a bore than now. if you culminated this reduction of power with a way of producing more drag, maybe it would work.

If the rules were changed so the cars were less aerodynamically efficient there would be a better chance of slipstreaming (and would slow down the cars). I doubt it would happen though.

The only things that should be changed are:

Bring back slicks
Bring back manual gearboxes
Get rid of "gizmos"
Get old circuits back. Todays ones mostly suck.

We are back to the perrenial question of how to make the racing more interesting. For years the teams have been suggesting less aerodynamics but, as they all have to agree according to the Concorde Agreement, it will never happen. Everyone knows that if you reduce the amount of downforce generated by the current aerodynamic packages, that you will make the racing better and bring the car more under the control of the driver. Then you can have the beloved 'slicks' back again to give mechanical grip. Automatic gearboxes could stay as they would have little impact.

Hey Presto...we have racing and overtaking once again, the tracks don't have to spend vast amounts of money in gravel traps the sixe of the Gobi Desert and the fans are happy bunnies!

Bring back the turbo cars of the 1980s. Since none of the present generation can drive a stick shift, that should slow the cars down in a big old New York Hurry!

Or else they'll go very fast until they fall off the road.

I sometimes wish that Mosley would stick to something he's good at, namely being heir to Britain's last serious attempt at a fascist leader (apologies to Carol and Mark Thatcher).
