You could probably use a 1/43 minichamps model as a reference as well?

Perhaps, you could also try to contact him directly to request pictures of his car? I recall running into his website several years ago while I was "wandering" the internet!

Is the car the one used in DTRC last year by Greg Rose?

yes i let greg use it a few times, it also did a couple of brit car races,

this year i am aiming for a full season in dtrc, except the lyden rounds which is a track of now interest to me, a bit small and a long drive for me.

Please keep us to update on the efforts to return the car back to original sponsor scheme? Are you owner of the Labatt's Sierra and now moving onto the 190Es?

Hi Martin,

Go to http://members.tripod.com/~MBNZ190E/190EDTM.html - there are a few side on pictures of your car, and the sister car of Mr Laffite (sp?).

By the way, what is Greg going to race this year, something in CTCRC CMS?

Cheers

Rob

Useable in terms of qualifying for historic car racing? engine powor or maintenance/spares availability? That's absolutely great you're taking so much care in trying to return the car back to it's paint scheme and keeping all these historic cars running.

Brain Chatfield ran 3 different DTM Mercedes in the Formula Saloons series. They included the Jaquies Laffite and Berd Maylander cars. They wiped the floor with the super tourers and sounded alot better

That is a real shame. So where did you get that piece of infomation? From some of the 190E evolution fansites?

That's no miracle. DTM-cars those days had a) a bigger engine (2,5l vs. 2.0l), and b) more technical gadgets were allowed.

Actually, the engines nowadays are bigger at 4L V8s, but they don't rev as high as the old DTM cars? Though I think the old DTM cars made a bit more hp? The current DTM cars also have some mean looking bodywork.

All the little winglets on the sides ruin the lines of the car and explode like a shower of carbon confetti when two cars touch.

Would look alot better if they had cleaner, sleeker lines.

Current DTM-engines produce about 480hp. Whith airintake-restrictors that is. Without them they pump out as much as 600hp. But MB and Audi probably feel that blowing up engines is not a good way to promote your brand
