Barrie should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
John Greasley 4x4 bi-turbo

Just been on erc24.com, fantastic RX Guru picture of Rolf Nilsson in the Greasley car snow racing. Anyone no what happened to this car? I only saw it once at the GP in 1984. Can't actually recall Greasley using it himself, anyone got any info on it? ta

IIRC Rolf Nilsson was the first RX driver to built a 4WD Porsche 911 and told me in 1984, that the front drive came from the straight 5th gear of the 911 gearbox and propelled a drive-shaft that mounted in an antislip-diff of a BMW 2002. Most tech people told him it would not last the first RX start but it all worked perfect. Alamäki, Niittymäki, Greasley and some others followed Nilsson later.

The Greasley 911 BiTurbo "Myggan" and Paris-Dakar winner René Metge used for the 24h at Chamonix was simply over-engined for ice racing and the car itself too weak for the terrible track conditions during the 1985 edition.

However, dunno what happened to that beautiful Greasley 911 later.

There is something very special about the powerful Porsches.

Whether its the fact that as a fan you KNOW that they must have been a ***** to drive! Or that they just look amazing with no light bubble and a big rear wing!!

And the sound, awesome! Watching Alamak throwing his around you just knoew that in a good car he would eventually dominate!!
