What if the 1987 Texaco Sierras were scrubbed at first scrutineering rather than after the race? Could they have done what they did in Japan to modify the wheel arch profiles, still run the works 17" Pirellis.. and still won the race?

What if the #1 Torana hadn't self-destructed in 1974?

What if the #05 Commodore hadn't needed to remove its front or rear windscreen in '85?

What if the #05 Commodore hadn't died in 1997?

And my two favourites...

What if Larry hadn't smacked the pit entrance in 2001?

What if Skippy hadn't attempted to cross the track in front of Richo in 2004?

What if Harry Firth never left Ford?

What if Johnson missed the 'Rock'?

What if the Sydney Morning Herald didn't have a slow news day on 25th June 1972?

What if Glenn Seton didn't form GSR?

What would have happened, if he had won Bathurst in 1995?

What if Glenn took the Tasman offer, instead of the DJR offer in 2004?

That's what happens when he had to carry a slower co-driver.

Craig had little choice.

(1) GSR wouldn't have been formed
(2) You'd still be telling us about it
(3) He'd have made into a Holden almost four years earlier

What if Ingalls steering gave way as he veered towards Skaife at EC03?

What if Dj's Tru Blu Falcon originally wore a red duco?

What if Seton wins Bathurst this year in a HRT mobile?

Really? Do you know who has it and where it is? All I know is that is was a Bill Patterson car but would loved to know more.
At the risk of sending the whole thread off topic (maybe not a bad thing ), what actually happened to sour to whole deal that weekend between Gerry and Peter, remembering earlier in the year they had shared the DTV Vauxhall to 2nd in the Spa 24 Hours.

There was a small article on the finding of the car in "Australian Muscle Car" a while back. They originally thought it was the other 4-door Torana entry from the team that meeting, but it turned out to be the Basil/Gerry car (the other car survives too, not sure though about the Brock #25 Hatchback from this race though). I'll try and find the article and post it

Fred Gibson would have had no need to hire Jim Richards for 1989. Seton would likely have got his Bathurst win in the GTR, and an ATCC title before 1993.

Jim would likely have gone to Benson & Hedges Racing in 1989 (he was rumoured to have been heading there mid-88 when the BMW's were proving uncompetitive), meaning that for 1990 Alan Jones wouldn't have had a ride there.....

Brock would probably have driven a private Ford in 1975 (his head at the time would have expanded even more, what better way to stick it to them by winning again in a Ford, rather than just showing up the works Holden's that break with a private Holden to doesn't like he did)

No Australian would have stood on the podium in 1985 apart from Garry Wilkinson introducing them (and we'd all think John Goss was an open-wheeler specialist)

Brock would have been much closer to the Goss/Hahne Jaguar when the timing chain broke

deeks6 User has been fined for unsportsmanlike behaviour!
But I have a soft spot for Holdens ... its called a swamp!

What if Ambrose wore his balaklava? No WWF on the mountain ...

What if the Walkinshoddys played it clean at the Island? Lowndes would be champ ...

What if Skaife was'nt arrogant? You could "almost" like him ... nah

What if Mum Boy's voice broke? Would he be less annoying?

What if Steve Johnson was the same weight as normal drivers? Would he be a winner?

What if I was made driving standards steward? BPB, Mums Boy, Silly, Dude, Dumbell would be driving Aussie Race Cars ... thats what.

What if Walkinshoddy paid all his creditors in the UK? Would he still be able to afford to be the Non-Owner of HRT/HSV?

What if Murf wised up when Holden screwed him and went to say FPR? Would he have been champ by now?

What if they had fair parity from 1998-2002? Would the AU have won the title?

What if V8SC actually worked out that compulsory pitstops, control tyres and too much aero actually makes the racing worse?

I better stop here ... I could go on forever with this ...

I wouldn’t want to say all the details as it was a long time ago and I know how Brocky is revered but let’s just say the way Dad treated Peter when he came over for the TT and Spa wasn’t reciprocated when Dad went to Oz and even up until about 2 weeks before Dad passed away he was interviewed for a mag and Brocky came up and he was still vociferous in his feelings on the subject!!

If you could find the article and post or e-mail it to me that would be great.

What if Peter Brock was born 25 years later. Would he have been as successful. Would Mark Skaife have had as much success if Brock was the same age.

What if motor racing wasn't cash-dependent, and your place in the premier categories was dependent on talent/application and dedication alone?

What if Aussie FFord and F3 were regarded higher overseas, all of these "young guns" getting sent back from Europe with no more sponsorship were given the benefit of the doubt time to time, they recieved decent machinery rather than hand-me-downs, they didnt end up spending 2 years crashing out in V8 Supercars before getting crowned as the next best thing, V8 Supercars wasnt as strong as a result and CAMS invested more in grass roots motorsport, in turn making FFord and F3 stronger?
