Mattracer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
HRT 427 axed.

The HRT 427 Monaro project has been dropped from Holden's future plans. Is another "supercar scare" like in the 1970s in the offing or was it solely because of cost? Hands up those who'd still like one?

Wanting one and being willing (and able) to hand over that sort of money for a hotted up Commodore are two entirely different things.

At 200k+, there are some looooovely European cars that would make my list first.

There are some dull european cars that i would buy before spending that much money on a 2 door rep mobile.

I doubt if it was ever going to see the road in the first place. Maybe Im cynical, but I think it was a bit of a PR exercise.

There was talk of a Monaro hitting UK shores, badged as a Vauxhall but still packing the 5.7 V8. There was one at the motorshow last October to gauge interest.

I guess they might follow it up as a potential rival for the X-Power MG ZT - although officially importing the HSV Commodore might be more successful...

No performance car the size of the Monaro deserves to be in that price class. Put that engine in a street-legal Corvette, and then we'll talk.
