Jerez testing - updated 11/05/02
http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpa...s_art_id=23478
Alonso has set a good pace; Ferrari seem to be laclustre, but RB says "not to worry" Massa still on top, JV still at the bottom (still trying set-up I guess) |

sato has today crashed again - twice in two days - ok it might be the car at fault, but he still seems not to have done much other than crash, be crashed into or blow up engines since he's been in F1!

Sato wasn't at Jerez today, bigjon.
He did crash on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the rest of your post suggests you don't watch F1 very closely. |

Yep I agree Kicking-back.
I know it doesn't mean much, but Webber was much faster than Heidfeld today, which was interesting. Better showing for BAR with Button too. |

Button crashed today...damaged the BARs nose; Ralfie also strayed into the gravel...thanks to the tyre wall...his car survived...
Everyone is too quiet abt the Bridgestone runners...something fishy??? |

The Bridgestones don't seem too good at the moment, but lets not have short term memories. Remember last year Bridgestone was meant to be way off the pace and then bam one test at Imola followed by a win at Melbourne.

but last year it was the Imola stest wherre they basically admitted defeat anbd took the cruciakl aspects of the Mich tyres into their own design. This time...hrmmm.....dunno like.
I really am concerned by Bridgestone. They have never had my full confidence...... If they get it right, then they tend to be very good at keeping it that way.....but when they find themselves at a disadvantage, it seems they really do struggle to sort things out. Hrrrmm.......all the questions that start to get answered come Melbourne. |

What can i say. "i'm so sorry for JV" If he can not beat FM .... he can always try to beat Jordan's and Minardi's. So our hope is not over yet!

The thing that is worrying for me concerning JV, is not the times he's doing, they are meaningless.
What does concern me is his apparent desperation to make excuses for himself before the season has even started, ala his comments in another thread! A tough year beckons I fear.... Last edited by Knowlesy; 10 Feb 2005 at 19:26. |

It doesn't look good, and it's perhaps a little late to start changing driving styles.I always thought he was one of the smoother drivers, hhhmmm.

It took him time to get aquainted with the Renault. A little to long.
I'm hoping by March he can be comfortable with the Sauber. I haven't seen him put in a competative time in testing yet. I know it's just testing but once in a while you have to see what the car can do and what you can do with the car. |

Looks like BAR are back to a midfield team next season. Yeah, it's testing and all but they've been no where, I hope they've been running fat in every test. At least that would explain their apparent lack of pace... I'm a big Button fan and I don't want to see him scrapping with the Toyota's and Jordan's, come on BAR pull your finger out.

Interesting article on Jacques' official website about his testing for Sauber:
Article is here JV hits all the right buttons on the talk to the press - "experimenting with set-up", "on a steep learning curve", "electronics on the brakes seem to be different to what I was used to" and "I will have to adjust my driving style". |

It's not fair - Massa's car is different, the electronics are designed to suit the other guy, the engineers can't change the car to suit JV, having to change his driving style is a sign of lack of respect/back-up from the team... etc etc. Just saving some folks the effort.
