MaxxUK should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
A big THANK-YOU in advance

Guys & Gals,

I'm one racer who really does appreciate what you folks do but having just read the following quote from the http://www.2cvracing.co.uk/ site I thought a post was in order .........

Quote:
The 2003 Auto Trader 2CV 24-Hour Race is being run by the British Automobile Racing Club who will be assisted at Snetterton by more than 100 volunteer marshals working around-the-clock in shifts
Thats pretty damn cool and I hope we give you a really good show. I'm doing this race for the first time, first time in a 2CV and first time driving at night, so, even though I think you folks are doing a great job, I hope to not be calling on your services

Cheers all

Maxx

Anyone know how they're looking marshal-wise? I'm going to ring tomorrow to see if they'll let me do it

As far as I know they're running 3 shifts (cycles of 3 hours on, 6 off I think) and as a result the numbers required are quite high. I doubt they'll be turning down any interested volunteers.

Hopefully see you there .......

I'll be co-piloting the same car as MaxxUK, so - thanks in advance from me too

I believe they're on the look out for more marshals for the event - you get a minature bottle of Glenfiddich, some refreshment vouchers, proper camping spot, and a prize raffle.

Log, have a look at http://www.2cvracing.co.uk/ - click on the "Auto Trader 24hr" link, then "marshalls" (sic)

I really wish I could make this one but timings and finances don't allow

I will say to any marshal thinking of going - DO IT! This has been one of the most popular marshalling events at Mondello for quite some time now and we were very disappointed when we lost it - it's fun, it's entertaining and you can't top the 2CV boys and girls. They treat the marshals really well, they're great fun to be around and the level of sportsmanship and goodwill can't be beaten.

I notice Top Gear have put in a team - comprising The Stig, one of the presenter guys and 2 of the winners from the "Fastest Religion" competition they had last year!

Circuit needs absolute minimum of 40 marshals normally. I think current number is about 60 people but this probably includes other than just marshals. So they may have to re-think 3 shifts and consider 2 shifts. Please volunteer if you can make it on any of the 3 days (13th, 14th, 15th) - Paul Phillips will be glad to hear from you.

Well you nearly had four more. But for a half point in a pub quiz to raise money for the teams last nite, we would have had a ferry ticket for a car and four people.

Sowwy! :

What's the latest we can apply?

I'm supposed to be at the other 24hrs, but if the French don't stop about with strikes on the ferries, I may turn up at the last minute!
