H16 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Why wasn't the ROC Reynard...

known as the "ROC VW" this year? They were last year, even sporting VW decals everywhere. But this year, they were called something else, despite the fact that virtually every commentator still refered to them as VWs.

Not sure why it was not a VW this, The year before the car was backed by VW France. As I am trying to write mey final year project spec for Uni, I am currently listining to the whole of this years race and they have just said that ROC saided, that engine comes from our very good friends at VW/Audi.

According to the ACO's official entry information, the engine is described as a "Lehmann" 2000cc single turbo. The "Lehmann" comes from Heinz Lehmann, the engine preparer. As far as I can gather, there is no doubt that the engine WAS a VW.

I've no idea why it was decided to use the engine preparer's name instead of VW itself. Presumably it was something VW were aware of?

ROC Auto do have a web site (although I haven't visited it yet). If you want to get there before me to see if there is an answer there, it is:-

.....just been there. No answer as far as I can see. Nice little site though with some good B&W photos from Le Mans in the 70's-80's. It hasn't been updated since 29th June....
