Your "Stuffed It" list, you started with Ritter, you seem to know all ..... or is it selective observations.
I gave you a hint, Kelly (T), Plato, Yoong, etc |

Plato had a shocker.... overdriving the vehicle seems the likely cause, did you enjoy qualifying, when the driver had the 05 car in the top ten, then went off at the conclusion of that qualifying lap, that saw him get bumped from the 10, unable to respond with sand up the pipes.
Kelly T also had a bad day, with the car's drivetrain not good from the start, and the car not handling well enough in his or Skaife's hands, to do much about anyone. The driver admits as much in the HRT release actually.... Interesting that both cars complained of drivetrain (more specifically clutch) issues.... and the handling problems identified by HRT are similar to those discussed and discovered by other Aurora-running teams. Presumably when PWR & KRT take delivery of their new units in 2005, the learning curve will begin again for them. Yoong's appraisal already exists in the other thread. A driver-induced flatspotted tyre early on, some team calls that other people may not have made.... and off on someone else's oil... and the codriver who also had some offs, made for a very craapy day Anyone else you want me to take for a hit? How about you make a contribution rather than just slinging..... |

Extremely rusty.... I dont think the pace was quite there either, certainly not like it was back in 1997.... with a full season under his belt.
Mr Plato will likely qualify the car at Bathurst also, but from all accounts merchandise sales are up |

Camaroz some drivers have a reputation... some drivers live up to that reputation... so that when they do something they shouldnt, it ends up out of the ordinary....
Should I say the Smiths Trucks boys stuffed up, because the car caught on fire, and burned all the expensive bits?? Or should I say that the firey handing the extinguisher to Phil Scifleet wasnt the cleverest thing I have ever seen, or indeed when the fire threatened to catch again when the car was loaded onto the truck.... Or another team where the driver chose to pit a couple of times because he thought he heard a radio call to do so.... is that a stuff up, probably yes as well |

Well he pitted once GTR in all fairness the other two where for gear box issues, the car had no clutch from lap 15 you know so I would say that both boys did a great job that in mind.

Senna 05,
"GTR gets more right than Auto Action - I don't see you bagging them?" Can't say I remember AA harpooning a driver and labeling their mistake as "Stuffed it", right or wrong! |

Hey GTR, what did you think of Simonsen in the 33 car. He was P6 in the wet practice, then Pretty got in and session ended faster and dry with Prettys' time 25th or something.....
Car had a couple of techy drama's which resulted in several new trashed tyres, but once fixed for the race, went from 25th up to 11th until oil pressure went and steering got heavy, probably belt off. |

I thought Mr Simonsen gave a good account of himself over the weekend... I was surprised that GRM left Mr Pretty to do the qualifying to be honest, I thought the idea was to put the fast guy in for that
If they can overcome the "2nd GRM car blues" the thing should be quick at Bathurst which should hopefully put Mr Simonsen's name further up the 2005 GRM driver shortlist.... |

I guess there's many reasons for many things, but Nathan has driven the Mongrel for them all year so he's the team regular in a way. Still, the statistics clearly show who's faster, but that ain't the whole story.
There was good car speed towards the end though (1.12.09 after 94 laps), so it bodes well for Bathurst. Just iron a few creases out. |
