Well folks ..... my brother just arrived in Le Mans , and its milling it down .

As I wont be there this year , and I guess most of you are already packed up , or getting there . I would just like to wish all of you a fantastic time , great weather and a cracker of a race .

Hope Oreca can pull it off this year ...... but love to see a Pesca win !!!

Looking forward to 2012 , I will have a beer with ye then .

Well folk's it's that time where I pop up and wish you all a safe trip to Le Mans, enjoy the race as it's shaping up to a fantastic race. I will be raising a glass to you all on Saturday lunchtime.

I am looking forward to hearing all about the week's event's when you get back.

Good luck and safe journey to all of you heading out this week! I will miss my first Le Mans since 2005 when AllonFS and Craig took me under their wings and escorted me along.
My only excuse for not going is a new improved job, but reduced holiday due to length of service

(Bad planning?!). But....I will be back next year, gutted to be missing the Saturday meeting; and what a coup James and co have pulled off this year. I enjoyed the pit visit last year with you all. Ayse, I always enjoy your continued banter (albeit less from me this year!). Praying for sun for you especially.

I think I've got a good idea of where the tree is and looking at Ayse's pics from last year, I hope to find you guys Saturday at noon. 24 hours before I board a plane bound for Paris and then onto Le Mans. See you guys soon.

After the main entrance, turn on your left, after 60 yards go through the tunnel under the Dunlop curve, then turn right toward the new village. We will meet near the biggest tree before the square of the new village.

I've finished all preparations. Leaving tomorrow morning, should arrive at Arnage camp before noon.

Current forecast is for a rainy Le Mans this year. Not very pleasant for camping, but it could spice up the race (wasn't needed though).

I hope I'll be able to meet you saturday, but I can't swear on it because I depend on others for moving around, as I'm leaving my car in Paris...

Anyway if I spot any people lurking around Arnage with a ten-tenth logo on him I'll offer him a drink!

Great meeting for a great 24H edition !

Sorry for having not being punctual but the south tunnel had been blocked for a while because of a security problem. Coming from the parking blanc, I had to take the Dunlop tunnel.
You chose the ultimate strategic position for the meeting, not far from the new tree, aside from the people traffic and near the track.
I saw you appreciated the foie gras ; to do again next year !

So, in the end I wasn't able to come to the meeting, as it took hours to complete our market at Arnage. Shame on me.

Next year I'll come with my own car to have a bit more independance at the track.

Night was very cold indeed! It even fell down to 5°C during saturday night...

But what a race! It will definitly be remembered as a classic.

Ha! Our group set a world speed record for raceday shopping at Arnage, I think. We left right after our poste briefing after the Ferrari race. Took us 18 minutes to get to the Super U from the poste (mostly due to congestion and no gendarmes at the roundabouts near the Porsche Curves), 4 minutes to get the groceries (each person was asked to pick up one item), and 4 minutes to check out -- would have been less but for the dithery drunks in front of us trying to buy more beer. Trip back was 10 minutes, since the gendarmes had arrived at the roundabouts. Made it to the campsite with five minutes to spare before we had to be on track for ACO inspection/closing course. Phew!

Sorry I couldn't make the meeting in the end. The downside I found of not having a tribunes ticket was that we had to camp out very early to get a front row seat for the start - which we did. Hopefully you all had a good one!

I caught an earlier flight back home to Dallas and I'm now home.

My Top 4 moments in order from this weekend:
1: Watching the start of the race.
2: Watching the sun rise over Tertre Rouge and the Dunlop Chicane
3: Meeting you guys.
4: Watching the end of the race.

I can't tell you how happy I was meeting you guys. It was like catching up with old friends. Everything Andrew, James, Pascal and Christopher told me came true. From the emotions I felt at random times of the race to what to see and what to look for and what to do...this was the BEST trip I've ever taken.

I have so much more to say and so much more to do that I'll get to over the next few days and weeks, but I wanted to get online and tell you guys how special it was and having you guys part of my trip made it that much more special.

Thank you for introducing Pinot de Charentes to me Eric, never tried it before but went to the shop on saturday just after the start and got me a few bottles for at home.
It was great meeting, let's wait how our photo will look in the forthcoming book about Le mans in panoramic pictures!!!
