According to this weeks Autosport, Derrick Walker said that he has spoken to Ryan Briscoe's manager regarding the possibility of Briscoe filling a third Team Australia seat.

not sure what you mean by Australian Tourism ??

care to explain ?

He is currently here in Australia announcing that he will drive with the Holden racing team in the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000 Touring cars races later this year , neither of those events clash with any Champcar races that I can see , so who knows ????

Things didn't work out for him in the IRL, but I'm not sure that was entirely his fault, and his performacnes elewhere suggest that he deserves a chance. A ride with Team Australia or PKV would give him a chance to prove that, but I'd hate for Tag or Power to lose their drives (although that seems unlikely; all the talk I've heard has Ryan as a third entry)

Well, latest I've heard is that he is still waiting on an answer about the PKV thing. He is not entirely hopeful as PKV really want Legge in a car.

BUT, he seems quite confident that he will be in Champ Cars this year. Perhaps we could have another car on the grid this year - with a quality steerer too ......

looks like he hasnt got the PKV drive - im not suprised really

when he commented on driving the enduros in v8 he said two things...

"Up until the last couple of weeks I didn't know what my plans for the year were so it's really come together very late, and

"When I confirm what I'm doing in America then we'll focus on organising a few days to come out,

He's been linked to Team Australia for quite a while now, so that's probably where he would end up.

Now that Legge is confirmed at PKV, I hope that Briscoe can land something with another ChampCar team.

He wouldn't be the ideal team mate for anyone. His reputation is on the floor, which makes him all the more dangerous. Anyone that can pull away from Helio Castroneves on a road course is immensely fast.

I think it was fair decision. In the current climate, Legge offers more to PKV and CC than Briscoe.

Are gender reassignments legal in Australia? If so, why didn't Ryan get one to make sure he got a drive over the seemingly less talented Legge?

Exactly, especially since Briscoe still thinks he has a chance in F1. Might as well have someone who is a long term asset to the series rather than a interloper.

i hope he gets a champcar drive at least, but his good performance at a1 might see him stay with that.

He definitely will not be in Champ Car in 2006 - he has had all of his options "removed".

Once upon a time a certain team owner allegedly threatened to pull out of a particular series if another team signed a certain driver, as it would allegedly go against his alleged marketing plan.

The other team owner allegedly had other interests in the series and allegedly decided that it would be best for the series for his team to allegedly not sign the certain driver.

Owner of the allegedly threatening team then allegedly phoned the certain driver and told him what he'd allegedly done and that he would be allegedly driving for his certain team. The announcement was allegedly going to be made the next day.

Certain driver subsequently allegedly refused the alleged demand and was then left without any options in the particular series.
