According to Lieb, as the race was over 1500km, the points are doubled.

How did everyone appreciate the 8 hour duration? I quite liked it, fuel economy more important, more time to recover from incidents.

Round 1 goes to Audi. Fastest lap over the 908 by .625 when there was no reason to push for most of the race and consistently faster then any Oreca-Peugeot driver by a healthy margin. Capello was able to put down laps on average a few tenths faster at the same time of the race then Sarrazin.

I dont think this track matches up well with Le Mans even with the long straight, no track matches up with Le Mans, but to be this much faster then the Oreca-Peugeot anywhere is great for Audi.

Round 2 will be much tougher for Audi, the works Peugeots will be there, not sure of the lineup but if Bourdais, Lamy, Montagny, Sarrazin, and Minassian are at Spa then we will really see where everyone is at, I doubt there will be any sandbagging.

Anyone else notice the Lola Astin Martin was going 325+ down one of the straights? Thats considerably faster then testing if I remember correctly

Three factory Pugs vs. three factory Audis, so I'd expect the full Le Mans line-ups.

I'm afraid that Hugues De Chaunac was given a 908 with old parts which are pushed to the limit.
Audi is ready now. Rendez-vous at Spa.

Good races in LMP2 and GT2 too.

Oh wow thats going to be a monster race, hopefully Eurosport won't be showing it, I don't want to see the first 30 minutes and then the last 30. If it were SpeedTV people would blame NASCAR wonder what they blame now. They're probably running around like a chicken with its head cutoff with no NASCAR to use as a scapegoat.

Anyways I think the fan inside all of us wants to see a close Le Mans no matter who we're pulling for, do you really want to see 3 audis run away from everyone like '07 or like Peugeot in '09. A perfect scenario for me would be Audi/Peugeot/Audi/Peugeot/Audi/Peugeot etc running order. I've pretty much given up on any non diesel car being competitive until 2011.

The battle in P2 was fantastic, right to the wire. Definately a good class to watch this season

plus 2x Kolles Audi, 1x ORECA Pug & Hopefully a couple of Astons.

Also, RLM predict half a dozen GT1 cars & with no VLN clash you should see both GT2 BMWs.

god that is going to be a full dress rehearsal for Le Mans.

edit - hindy sounds like he needs an air mask, god bless him doing 8 hours solo must have been a killer.

May's going to be a wonderful month, starting with Spa, then the Nurburgring, then Laguna and, for the Indy buffs, the Indy 500. Then just 2 weeks until Le Mans.

So we can expect a Spa race with over 50 entries? Good golly Dolly. Will they have to use both pits to accommodate this? Can't remember which pits were used last year.

If Aston Martin sandbagged but did 325+ km/h on the straight, then they forgot to stop themselves there.

Very nice race. It's a nice format for this early in the year. Better then Catalunya. Hope they go back next year or keep the format.

No commentary rants directed towards Signature-Minus... so Ragues and Mailleux have learned to drive for this race. Or were they (as someone suggested earlier) simply trying to charm Vanina?

I'm impressed by Porsche and Felbermayr performance and efficiency. They've done a huge job: have dominated the race, no troubles, magistral strategy and perfect car&crew.
A perfect race for the best team on the track.
Porsche is more efficient than Ferrari: better fuel consumption is one of the plus of the 997 RSR.
In Le Mans you can win if your car is not forced to stop in the pits every few laps.
