Loton Park Results
After a hard but fantastic weekend at Touring cars then Combe today, I'm knackered.
However the anorak inside me won't let me rest until I know how the runoffs at Loton went. Can anybody help me out?? |

Adam Fleetwood won both the top 12 run offs, by quite lage margins.
It was a really enjoyable day out, a very nice venue, with reasonably priced good quality catering! Obviously SRO weren't involved! |

just goes to show just how little the results really tell you !!!! results seem boring, same people same places........ but!!!! Willem Toet was fastest to the split in both run-offs!! Only lost the final run-off during the last 50m of the hill !!! Ed Hollier????? who's he??? BOY did I find out !!!!!!! superb runs, ALL week-end !!! well done. Adam; "hanging-on to new car, it's vicious!!!" Jnr; "old car just not fast enough, but new one might be" Others: "Could have/should have/might have" but the best sight of the week-end, even including the awesome puma???????? Roy Lane on his feet after major surgery but unable to drive this year. get well soon Roy, the "Hills" are not the same without you. here's to Prescott 1st/2nd May sorry, forgot!!!!! all about Chris "I'm a rally driver" Merrick !!!!!! not to mention........ Woolley's classic comment.... after Martin Groves's spin........ "OK Martin, we'll just spin you around to face the right way" !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last edited by Stuart Hill; 13 Apr 2004 at 21:27. |

Interesting stuff. Picking the bones out of that.
1. Toet's runs are noteworthy considering how much speed he feels is still to come, both from him and the car. 2. No Rob Turnbull in the dry run? 3. Apart from Adam & Jnr, Roger Moran seems to be (statistically) the most consistant. Good quote from Wolley. In the same vein, a quote from 10 tenths own Nick Ramsden - "What puts me off marshalling is getting boring posts like this where nothing ever happens" Castle Combe, Post B Avon Rise, 12/04/04 - a few minutes prior to a FFord 1600 spinning in the middle of the pack on the approach to the first corner and about 3/4 an hour before a Radical made contact with a Nissan Skyline & deposited nearly half of itself directly on top of him from a height of 20ft. |

Rob Ditched it @ post 4 in the morning runs....
No major damage just a broken wing endplate from what I could see... In the afternoon runs he calmly said to us whilst getting his time off the printer "I think I need to go and change my trousers cause that was bloody scary" And if Rob Turnbull says that then you can get an idea of how difficult the afternoon conditions were.. I will echo Stu's comments about Roy.... My kids were pleased to see him as they look for him at every meeting and missed him at Prescott |

It will be interesting to see if Willem can go quicker without going beyond the limit if not all you marshalls had better take a step back

Good old Willem. Top Bloke!
Having seen the Loton run offs, I can't wait for Prescott. Loton is Adam's 'home' hill so it will be interesting if he can destroy the opposition at Prescott like he did at Loton. PS. Tried to wave at all the Marshals on the way down the hill at Loton, but sorry if I missed any of you! |
