Group C & IMSA GTP 1/43 Models
Anyone got any suggestions as to where the best places (on the web or elsewhere) are to get hold of Group C and IMSA GTP models?
There are a lot on eBay but they're nearly all Porsche 962s! It would be nice to have something a bit different. |

Ebbro make the Nissan Group C and IMSA GTP cars.
IXO Jaguar XJR-9/12 Spark XJR-5 IXO Peugeot 905 IXO Toyota TS010 Minichamps Mercedes C9/C11/C291 Minichamps 956/962 Spark WM Peugeot Spark Dome IXO Rondeau IXO Nissan R89C If you have the cash i would advise checking out the Exoto 1/18 scale Sauber Mercedes C9's. They truly are a work of art. I have the Michelin German SuperCup, 1988 WSC AEG car and the 1987 Kourus car. Exoto will also be releasing the Porsche 956/962, Sauber Mercedes C11/C291, Aston Martin AMR1 and the Jaguar XJR-9/12. AutoArt will be releasing the Mazda 787B in 1/18 scale soon. check out www.modelissimo.de for a good selection and prices. http://www.sammlermodell.de/uebersichten/sauber.html http://www.hr-specials.de/shop/ex28691.html |

Thx JAG.
Don't think my wallet will stretch to an Exoto collection, but they do look stunning. |

If you were in Le Mans last week, you could have bought 5 IXO's cars for 50 euro's on the Sunday, I purchased a Jag, Mazda, Toyota and more modern Audi team Goh R8 and Dodge Viper for the nephew, well worth the money.

Nor did I!!!!!!!
I didn't see any 1:43 for less than 28 euros (with a layer of dust on them hal;f an inch thick). The decent 1:43s that I saw were retailing for 40 euros. I was staggered by the models of last years Pesca cars in his new shop in the village - 58 euros each???????? |

The stalls selling 5 for 50 euros were doing it just after the race had finished (or by the time it took us to walk down the track from the Dunlop bridge to the tribunes). There was one stall behind the tribunes and one in the square in the village, both run by a Brit company.
They had them for sale until this time at 3 for 50 euros. |

That's still an awful lot of cash for a 1:43, Mike. I'd want it gold-plated for that....... |

MA Models has a whole bunch of IMSA cars - either kit or built. I have a Toyota MkIII 1993 kit - quality is ok, a bit below Starter or Provence, but not bad for the price (about $45 for a kit). |

I think Spark will make most of the IMSA GTP cars in time.

hello
This thread been around a while but just to update it a bit I've recently discovered www.rcsmodels.co.uk who stock a whole bunch of stuff including the new HPi Group C models in 1/43 scale at very good prices. I was very pleased to pick up the 1982 Le Mans winning Porsche 956 from them and then purchased "Rothmans" decals from www.modelworks.co.uk to finish it off properly. Nick |
