Tasty championship battle ruined by clumsy minor contact with a GT. Ferrari/Lexus lead change in GT Pro totally missed on the broadcast. GTD was super close and now...this. Disappointing finish to a (typically) very exciting Petit.

As I heard from one my fellow flaggers friends @ T4, apparently there were also some flames visible right after the impact which caused some minor panic responses here and there... Luckily, it all ended relatively well with just a couple of bruised ego's and heavily damaged cars. I'm sure the Lexus will be back next season and the collector simply has to wait a bit longer before getting handed the key!

Given the previous sales and use, that car was probably destined to run soon, the Whelen Vette DP and a Caddy DPi have been running or entered in Historics. And the ESM DPi runs in a week at Road Atlanta.
