Stephen.

I believe our friend means Glock is the only rookie to score this season (so far).

Oh promise me you'll buck up!

Hmm. Glock is young, German, it seems fast, and made his debut in a Jordan.

How long till someone proclaims his as the "next Schumacher"?

I was thrilled for Jordan when they got moved up into the pointws. Eddie puts 110% into things, does everything to stay competitive without works backing, and almsot won the title as an Independant as recently as 1999. With the Pantano fiasco and the Heidfeld pitstop as well, points were a rich reward.

I'm delighted for the team but let us not forget that it was becuase 2 teams were disqualified.

7th place though not too shabby.

Does the team get rewarded for every point scored or is it just their position in the constructor's championship??

Both, billyblister.

The fact that two teams were disqualified is irrelevant, points are allocated to cars which meet the regulations.

Oh definately I agree, but it wasn't for their sheer speed either. Don't get me wrong I'm one of Jordan's biggest fans but I hate to get my hopes up too much.

If Pantano is (Droped/sacked/leaves) call it what you will, this would be the 5th year running where a driver has come in Mid season.
In 99 it was Schumacher-Salo
00 Irvine-Burti
01 Mazzacane-Burti, Burti-Delarosa, Frentzen-Alesi and Marquez-Yoong.
02 Yoong-Davidson
03 Wilson-Kieasa, Pizzonia-Wilson, Firman-Baumgartner and R-Schumacher- Gene

and now its Pantano out for Glock. Is this a bit unstable for F1 or is it a case of money talks?

Dan - some of those were injury or illness related (Schumacher-Salo, Irvine-Burti, Firman-Baumgartner, R-Schumacher- Gene) and weren't anything to do with performance or cash.

The other switches were generally performance related, some of these were justified others showed a distinct lack of patience and the subs didn't always do a better job.

Drivers have been replaced for various reasons for as long as F1 has existed, not just in the last few years. The situation was far worse in the early/mid 90's, eg in 1994...
- Over 40 drivers did at least one race,
- Johnny Herbert drove for 3 teams (Lotus, Ligier and Benetton),
- Only 5 teams kept the same drivers all season,
- Larrousse, Lotus and Simtek used 6 drivers each! (sadly due to injuries and Roland Ratzenburger's death as well as cashflow problems)

Changes in driver lineups are at least an interesting novelty, livening up otherwise boring races.
