Acclimatising the teams to Le Mans itself, I guess, if they are new-ish to it; after all, the FLM champion team in the Le Mans Series this year will get an automatic invite for Le Mans next year in LMP2.

And the teams that don't win it will hopefully get the Le Mans bug and chase an LMP2. I think it's a very clever idea.

That would be my question as well. The last time I attended the test day was back in 2006 and then they even allowed spectators into the pitlane on Saturday, a nice and rare chance to get up close to the cars.

Would be great if someone could find out if that's the case this year as well..would make the test day even better

Had today a Call with the ACO .For the Moment no decision if we can go inside the Circuit on Saturday . If they have News they will give the Information to their Website .

Flying Lizard Motorsport's press release about their Le Mans entries specifies that if the team has participated in the race in the last few years, they are not necessarily required to attend the test day; is that fact or misunderstanding from the team? It also mentions that they will not attend the test day because of the short turnaround after Long Beach.

I thought you were only required to enter the test day if you had new cars or "rookie" drivers on your team, or if your team was completely new to Sarthe.

That's fact.
Only teams/drivers/cars which have not previously competed at the 24 Hours are obliged to attend.

I spoke to the ACO today.
They say there will be no public access to the circuit on Saturday April 23.
However ACO Passion 24 members will have free access to the circuit that day on production of their membership cards.

Well, last new from the tickets office just now, public can access to the circuit with his 24 hours' ticket. There will be a special ticket for the test day week-end at 10 €.

IIRC there has always been an arrangement whereby the general access ticket for the race gave access to test day. It's the first piece that's torn off, then the practice sessions, then just the piece for the race is left.

No not Saturday. The ACO say that public admission for the test weekend is only for the Test Day itself, that's Sunday 24 April. Ticket holders for the 24 Hours get in free, otherwise entry is 10€.
ACO Passion 24 VIP and Gold members wll be allowed admission to the circuit on the Saturday on production of their membership cards.

That was my plan as well, I rescheduled when the word was that there is no public access on Saturday. And since that still seems to be the case, I have nothing to worry about

Well, I don't understand. KPY has one answer from the ACO about the Saturday access and I've got another last week when I Called them and I went to the ACO Offices. Next week, I'll go back to the circuit to confirm.

Strange Situation !! Had yesterday a Call with the ACO . First with the Marketing and Communication Department and than with the Ticket Office . Both confirm that we can get inside the Circuit for Saturday , but you must have your General Entrance Ticket or the Ticket for the Test Day .
