I have three of his last cars. He has been to the workshop here a lot lately, I am helping him rebuild one for a comeback! The last FF's he did were OX6's, they ran Aurigas...Don't know where the Scholar came from. I have the chassis he broke his neck in at the Festival, plus two spares he built in case! Also all the suspension, moulds etc. They were the 'long nose' red ones. I've been hunting around trying to find photographs of them if anyone has any? It would have been around 90, 91, 92 time.

Would have been the end of 1993 or beginning of 1994, guess it was 1993 Festvial that he broke his neck Can't find an entry list for the 1994 festival but the engine Frank Bradley used is the same one. Guess you should know but would have bet my life it was a Scholar!.....guess I'd be dead! |

It is just like the SC92 you used to own [and are now buying back] but with only two corners on it,, so is now only half the car it was. |

Diz there is no need to say it as the SC92 FF is the best looking car but since you have I will agree.

I'm with Andrew on this one. The PRS is the best. Mind you i'm biased as i've had one for over 20 years. Much improved by adding an extra Reynard style roll roop. The original ones had a habit of breaking when they were needed the most!

Hi Alan! Long time no see (since those Eckard Design days!)
Have you any photos of the colour scheme of your car? I remember you painted yourself driving it on the cockpit side as a cut-away. |

The best looking car ever is the Roni designed, built and raced by Ron Whittaker!

The PRS RH02 was probably nicer looking than the RH01, they refined the shape a bit. Although the paint job makes a difference, the lime green thing that Austin Kinsella and Steve Pearce drove in the 80's looked like an Avacado on wheels. Sorry fellas! http://tentenths.com/forum/newreply....e=1&p=1425763#
Was'nt there a Roni F3 or Atlantic car as well? |

Just love that Outon Park pic. All great drivers line astern in typical late 70 FF1600 action. This if i remember was Kennys tripple FF1600 championship year in the RMC Royale RP24. Looked great back then but examining David Lesleys more closely recently i was supprised how small it looks today. Still fantastic Formula Ford days.

They were fantastic Formula Ford days. I was marshaling then, mainly at Silverstone, and the FF's were unreal. The irish invasion had been was in full swing for a while (Daly, Devaney, Acheson, Roe and the rest) and it really added spice to the racing. Sometimes I couldn't believe what they did - and also got away with! - Happy days. |
