And the driver is...
...Wakefield in car 4 with Ambrose!
According to some reliable sources, it is a done deal, and WW finally gets his chance. I just hope that he makes the most of it! Also interesting to not that there have only been 41 entries in the 1000, while there are 23 entries for the 30 lapper on Saturday. I guess the number in the main race may go up, and the number in the 30 lapper go down before race weekend, but I think it would be a bit of a disappointment to have so few cars on Sunday's starting grid... |

I have known Wayne for a long time now and been a huge advocate of his but I just hope that he keeps the car out there for the distance. I also wish him the best and would love nothing better than to see on the podium at he end of the day.
Crash I have been waiting since yesterday for you to post this. |

The topic of WW's drive came up the other night, and it was interesting to compare his drive from the 2000 to the 2001 Konica round. Last year, he basically went off...it was sensational to watch, and great to watch...but this year, he kept the straight, and he put a very much underfunded car onto the podium.
Crick left SBR because the car was set up too soft for his liking- if there is someone who enjoys a softly set up car it's Wakefield. By the way, I thought an open wheel driver would prefer a much stiffer set up? |

Ah yes... with pictures of 8" of axle tramp in a Mazda going under the Shell Bridge, and a two second lead at the end of the first lap of a Commodore Cup race...

Well this is something that half of Qld has been waiting years to see. This is the best chance he's ever had and I hope he makes the best of it, fast and clean. It's great to see someone getting a run in a V8 Supercar without a wad of cash or a famous father or even Formula Ford experience.
