I can imagine there's plenty of opportunity for disgrace in their usage.
I can remember when Arnage Corner's facilities offered nothing but "squats" - the surrounding woodland must be the most well-fertilized in the area....

Mind you, what they offer now isn't much better

Is that why the pine-cones there are huge? When I say huge, I mean huge.

Time to move on - there must be funny Le Mans stories that don't revolve solely around toilet humour......

True.

The second time we went,in '97,we finally arrived in the city of Le Mans and not much later found ourselves on the small roads around the track.
I guess it was Friday and these roads were packed and so we stood in a trafficjam.
When we came up on the right side of the museum,we turned left to go to camping bleu when all of a sudden our car(a Citroën BX GTI) blacked out completely! There we were,in the middle of the street, blocking the other traffic and not having a clue as to what caused the problem. When turning the key, really nothing happened.
At least we were able to push the car to the side of the road and so we stood there, wondering what mechanical gremlin had just hit us...(french cars...) Then, out of nowhere,an englisch chap walked in,asking "need any help lads?", "Yes,we desperatly do!"
So the guy dives under the hood, his E.T.finger lits up,he touches something, asks me to fire it up and, what do ya know! The car purred like a kitten!
Up till this day we still don't know what he did,but it worked. It must've taken him all but five seconds...all I remember is that he wore a Williams/Renault cap.

I guarantee he'll have tightened up the stupid bakelite knob that connects the positive lead to the battery, lousy French idea that they still persist with, my old 406 coupe did it all the time.

Another great moment we had was in '98(I recon) when we were strolling around the paddock/hospitallity area(completely sober,by the way),when all of a sudden, out of some exit,a waiter of some sorts comes walking out, carrying the original Le Mans price! You know, the cup(or however one calls that in englisch)!
Anyhow,my mate asks him immediatly if he can hold it for a sec,and this servant doesn't know how to react so he hands the thing over!
I held it too for a brief moment...

You think so? I guess it was allright. The thing ran well over 125 mph in a quite comfortable style. Handlingwise it was quite nose heavy though...
