As a contest the event is over unless Loeb and Sordo make mistakes - and that can't be good news no matter what your allegiance is.

(I will admit that I'd like Gronholm to win the title this year next year is going to be all too easy for Loeb so I'd like a little variation.)

of course I see your point...but yes using Citroens as my personal transport for the last 26 years does not exactly make me objective.
and I don't think that the team will allow Sordo and Loeb to make a race of it...

A shame Marcus has decided to start throwing it off the road lately. I was desperate for him to win it.

It is Loeb's now really. Barring a miracle.

if loeb wins in ireland then he will be 6 points up on marcus going into GB

marcus then needs to win GB with loeb finishing 5th or lower, now i guess we could say a top2 lockout was possible with marcus and mikko, but i cant see the other cars pushing him further down the order to 5th.

so yeh i guess that we can be about 90% certain that loeb will lift the crown

well I have to trust your knowledge of Finnish (and given your nationality I do...) but what struck me is the fun the spectators seem to have when he crashes out....

It aint over till the fat lady sings.

Suppose Loeb does what Marcus did today err?

Remember what Sainz's Corolla did one year that prompted Luis Moya to fling his helmet into the back screen of said Toyota?

Im amazed really that Sligo County councill acctually made a wall that could stop something....

Heart goes out to Meeke tho, he was on form untill the problems started happening.

well, halfway during the rallye, it looks like Sordo made the mistake, giving the Rallye on a plate to Loeb.

I disagree, Loeb is entirely capable of putting 30 seconds on almost anyone in identical equipment

Congrats to Atkinson for what I think would be his first stage win on tarmac that wasn't weather effected. Commiserations on the retirement

sure, but Sordo did not come in second....there were quite a few other cars before him...and Loeb was only 3.7 seconds faster than Latvala
Anyway, judging from the first two stages today, the Citroens are cruising home...

Certainly not your run of the mill tarmac event is it?

The conditions certainly caught a few people out - thought the shot of Stohl vanishing through a hedge was funny and Petter summed up the conditions well! Shame Marcus retired, Loeb can afford to be cautious in Wales whilst marcus will have to go all out for victory - the other Fords are going to have to give some sterling performances if Gronholm is going to take the title.

gonna need a miracle in the form of a mechanical problems or an O.T.R for loeb if marcus is going to win the championship...

but atleast they have taken the manufacturers champioship so marcus and mikko can go balls out to try and unsettle him in GB, nothing to loose! then again loeb will probably just cruise to a 4th place finish and take the championship, whereas i think loeb needs to finish lower than 6th for marcus to take the championship if he wins
