Yep. Alonso did do well. Methinks he's either very light or they have turned the corner. It would be nice to have the latter but I suspect the former.

Indeed and his face in the weigh scales area suggests he's not totally pleased and knows he's light. Quite close between top half dozen really though.

Good stuff from Alonso and Renault. The car seem to be much quicker, but i'd be surprised if Renault had overtaken BMW and Mclaren on pure pace. The pack is very close on time, and i think Renault opt to go a couple of laps lighter just to get in front for the home crowd.

Very close, even in Q1. Tyres do play quite a role today, and not a bad qualy considering its boring barcelona.

Yeah, i'd probably be really upset to be on the front row in a car I new couldn't win the race!!!

Good for Fernando though, we need him at the front, excellent driver.

Renault thought their package was worth about 0.5s, and with most other teams upgrades only about 0.2-3s, it wouldve been a net gain of a similar 0.2-3s. They "appear" though to have gained over a second which is unheard of.
