If this is Wed., am I in Oschersleben?
I still haven't been able to find anything as far as official entry lists, etc., for this Sunday's (July 20) FIA-SCC race at Oschersleben
There were some questions as far as who might or might not show up, or if they would even haveenough cars to amke a race worth running... Has Anyone Seen Anything??? Please post it, if possible... Thanks! |

I wish I knew....
The Racing for Holland site has a general story on the weekend, but has no entries listed... web searches turn up nothing.... It has become "The Mystery Racing Series" Now if it was a series for 3-wheeled ice cream carts, fine...nobody cares about that...but these teams can compete at Le mans for crying out loud! It is absurd.... If anyone has seen anything on dailysportscar or another site, please post it so that we will know who has... and has not...shown up to run... Thanks! |

This list is such a jumble....
From what I have gathered: SR1's 2 RfH Domes (but we got a report that only one would run earlier) 2 Pescarolo Courage 1 GLV Ferrari 1 Taurus Sports Lola 1. Promec 1 Durango 1 DBA Zytek 1. Team Ascari 1 R&M Chassis SR2 1 - Lucchinis racing Alfas 1.- SCI racing Lucchini Alfa 1 - GP racing Lucchini Alfa 1 - Team Jota Pilbeam Nissan 1. PiR Competition Pilbeam Peugeot 11 SR1's 5 SR2's 16 cars... Now...how accurate is this list???? |

To Pirenzo:
The common thought is that this will be the last year, since Mr. ratel (who runs it right now) was on board as part of the LM Tournament announcement.... Teams will run in the LMES next year.... |

I think I won't be able to write you from Germany, but, if I will find an Internet connection, I will write you the real entry list and some thought/fact during the (short) racing weekend... See you! Fulvio PS: I just avoid comments about the other races that will took place in Oschersleben this Sunday... How can we hope to have people for the race offering a show so poor |

Not sure what the FIA thinks it is doing here; I have heard of series that weren't promoted but this series is being un-promoted.

The whole thing is a total farce, and I have enormous sympathy for the competitors- it can't be easy to try and tie up sponsorship to run in a series that the organisers seem to want to deny actually exists..... (no wonder there are so few cars out there)
There is a news item regarding Oschersleben on Dailysportscar though- although even they say they're struggling to find news. The bit they've got is a good one though- the DBA should be there, although without John Nielsen, who's racing touring cars at home in Denmark this weekend- he's apparently lined up a fairly useful stand-in - Andy Wallace... |

I'll be honest with you, guys....
I've never used the source listed above www.speedsportmag.de until yesterday... the entry list posted by them looks exactly like the list that was set for Monza...but I got it by clicking on the name of the venue at that site, so I'm hoping it is accurate... However, someone reported in the "Oschersleben -- Status" thread that they read in a British publication that RfH was only going to run one car....this lists two cars for them... another note that raises questions: One team that was at Monza (in one of the Monza race threads) said that they were only racing at Donnington and Spa and would skip Oschersleben, yet this list has exactly the same field that the original Monza list had... I cannot verify its accuracy....but 16 cars would be very nice... We know that Fulvio and Durango will be thee, and the Jan Lammers site says they will be there (but did not say how many cars - one or two - would be there....) I guess we'll find out Monday morning...after they have raced....provided someone actually releases results.... But we can always find out from Fulvio from his account of the event from his perspective (He's our man!!!!....I'm an instant Durango fan!!!).... If you do see any list posted from an independent source that you deem as reliable, please post it... I cannot verify or vouch for how good the list above actually is... |

I've been at Durango this morning [they booked me the flight.. I went there to take the papers ], and asked about the entry list....
The guy with the list was already in travel, so I don't know exactly.. but talking with my Team Manager he told me that we're going to have a strong field at Oschersleben... I don't know if it's true or not.. but I strongly hope it is!! The only thing I don't understand is why as many cars at Oschersleben as in Monza? In my opinion the second german race of the year would have been [togheter with Nogaro] the fall out of the year... But, surely, it's better more than less cars, obviously Good talks until my return! [I have the plane tomorrow at 8.10 am... so I have to get up early - you know... students' life doesn't teach you to get up every day at 7 ] Last edited by Fulvio; 17 Jul 2003 at 19:06. |

This list looks like the original list at Monza, before some did not show for whatever reasons...
Guess we'll know sometime before Sunday.... |

ah well, there is next year's Le Mans series to look forward to. Monza then ought to be an spectacular start-up event of the season (unless SEEEEEEEEEBBBBBBRRRIIIIINNNGGG! should kick it off). Shame they won't be using the banking - NOT!!! I've not been to Monza (yet) but I hear the banking is only two cars wide, extremely bumpy - and suicidal. I would have loved to have been there in '69, with the 312Ps and 907/908s. Instead of just a euro-based series, why not a world series? (oops time to start a new thread) |

Does that Banking still exist????
Months ago, someone was talking about tracks in Europe where the "Tournament" should run, and it was either Monza or some other European teack that had a banked curve that someone said has not been udes in decades and that trees were growing up through the surface... Someone please refresh my memory and share with us which track that actually was.... |

I've been told that the banking will survive - there was talk of tearing it down to make way for a telescope and observatory to house it. |

The banking is about three cars wide and is totally intact.
It's a concrete paved oval, with a concave driving surface. I'd say the banking is about 45 degrees at its highest Unfortunately, there are weeds and stuff growing up through the surface, and basically the whole thing is in a bit of a mess, but they'd certainly be doing over 240mph round that |
