* When the #6, #17 and #99 are somewhere near the pointy end, as they were in Qualifying; you can safely say they have very good racecars.
* #39 Scott Pruett best of the road-ringers.
* #01 Joe Nemechek, #19 Jeremy Mayfield, #16 Greg Biffle and the #49 Ken Schrader had big gains from practice.
* All road-ringers qualified.
* #31 Robby Gordon qualified in the middle of the pack, which is extremely surprising.
* Sleepers in the pack appear to be #5 Terry labonte, #18 Bobby Labonte and #42 Jamie McMurray whose cars have been consistent so far.
* Championship Leader Jimmie Johnson had a shocking Qualifying, qualifying 34th, while second in points Dale Earnhardt.Jr qualified 20th.
