It's funny if you actually believe they'll be able to achieve pole! I say the best of the Privateers is feasible but Pole I think will be out of reach.

Is Dome only staffed by Japanese staff?
There seems to be something besides being snubbed by Toyota (if that did happen, Toyota already has a full facility to undertake the Le Mans effort) and that is the desire to prove Japanese technology and talent. I hope it pays off for Dome, and really the only way would be a standout qualifying effort as taking on Factory Audi and Toyota (and Peugeot, who were in the race when Dome's plans were taking shape) efforts which have much more in finance. I am hoping this isn't putting Dome too far out on a financial limb, and with their passion I am hoping they get the achievement they want. The S102 was stunning at LeMans before, and reliable. Here is hoping their past experience coupled with Pescarolo will result in speed and a stunning placement at the finish. Honestly I will cheer more for them then Toyota. |

They better hope it doesn't rain in qualifying (not that it will Ayse) or something like that as they will end up likely outside the top 5 heading into the race with a potentially fragile car.

If Toyota really is concerned about the Dome (I doubt they're giving Dome's effort more than 2 seconds of concern), perhaps they will "convince" Michelin that it might be a good idea to provide the Pescarolo Dome team with some low grade rubber. Of course, if Toyota did what LG accuses GM of doing, Dome would not have had Michelins to begin with.
It would have been nice if Dome put an HPD in their car if they really wanted to be pro-Japanese (even if the HPD engine is essentially American if I remember correctly) and if they wanted to make Toyota feel some heat. It could have helped make a case for a Honda factory program if it ran well. Oh well I guess. |

i don't know any japanese pole specialist (usually in GT500 are the foreign drivers to run for the superpole). Maybe the only worldwide famous japanese driver beyond sauber's driver kobayashi is takuma sato.

Good drivers all, but there is something about a certain combination of driver, car, and time in career that is magic. Capello had it over his esteemed teammates in the early part of the last decade for instance. Maybe Sarrazin wouldn't have it over these guys in the S102.5 now, but I'd give him that shot if I could. |
