I would have thought that with Racing Box going LMP2 with a Lucchinni for 2008 , it is a good pointer that Oreca will not run their Saleen "race" program .

It was also mentioned that with the Oreca purchase of the Courage manufacturing part of the company , that Courage will look after either LMP1 and Oreca LMP2 , or vis versa .

But Oreca might still support the Saleen teams , much like they are still supporting Viper GTS/R teams ..... i would have thought , or ?

I don't think de Chaunac has given up on the Saleen representation he has for Europe but how many teams are out there with a Saleen?? (and I do not mean the old rusty ones like that joke given to Enge at Brno)

Horag will have 2 RS Spyders in LMS - (cheaper than spares package) - will have driver who "knows the ropes of the RS" - motorsport.com

I think that should be read as Horag will buy two Spyders, one to race and one as a spare. So just one racing in the LMS.

Lista Porsche Article

In the article in sounds like Fredy thinks they will be competing against a 3rd RS Spyder other that the VW Motorsports car.

"With the arrival of two or three RS Spyders to the LMS grid in 2008, Theys predicts a hard-fought championship battle in LMP2 next year.

"I hope to win LMP2," he said. "It will be tough because there will be two other teams that will race with the same equipment. "

I wonder if the third team with the Spyder is going to be that SPS team that has been rumored to be getting one for some time now.

I am happy to report you are (almost) right. Z'voort has indeed noise weekends that are taken by A1GP and DTM, even the F3 Masters had to go away because of th hypocritical greenies...

DSC says two LMP1 Coupes for Epsilon Euskadi.
As a non-subscriber I can't read the details, though.

They'll be obsolete by 2009, they've dominated FIA GT, they need to move on to progress, so either DTM or LMS.

Latest rumour is suggesting a LMS campaign for 2008 , with 2 997 , so its quite possible they could get a RS Spyder . Their well capable of running all 3 .

That's good news, it practically ensures GT1 will end after 2008, while GT2 is looking very, very good.

ORECA could build GT2 Comp Vipers.

But unless they are homologated from the SRT Coupe they will not be legal in ACO competitions. Everything I have seen about the ALMS car(s) that are supposed to be headed for homologation has called it a Comp. Coupe. But unless something has changed isn't the Comp. Coupe still not legal by ACO rule ( no road going version)?

It is the ACO themselves homologating the Comp Coupe, it's likely been given the go ahead thanks to the Vipers history, it's been racing for some time now.
