Andy Johns should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Thruxton changes

Been keeping an eye of what's going on at Thruxton. Posts 18 & 19 have been removed, and armco is gradually being built up from the gate above the hanger. It will eventually meet up with the barrier at post 20. When that's finished, a bank like the one opposite the new post 9 will be built, and one or two posts will be dug into it like the new post 10.

Andy, can you find out if the new dugouts will have walkways unlike the oasis at Post 10.

Like chigley said, will they be more forward thinking to leave a safe, marshal run area between the bank and the armco?
Post 10 is awful and dangerous IMHO, no running area either side!

I'll be there on Thursday & Friday, so I'll have a word with Trevor and Tom Jones.

Never been on Post 19 and only once on Post 18 once but am aware they were susceptible to a big hit,so glad to see them finally get moved
Hopefully, the new arrangement and banking won't have an affect on any line of sight issues which arose from the work done at Posts 9 & 10
(Post 9 having to revert back to an extra infield post to solve the problem)

Some pics taken earlier in the year from Post 11

Post 11F

Although the track hasn't altered, the perception of it has changed completely

Spoke to Trevor today. He had a meeting with Tom Jones earlier this week, and Tom agreed that post 10 is not good, and any posts put in to replace 18 & 19 will be more marshal friendly. I took pictures today, but I've not been at this game long enough to be allowed to attach them.

I didn't know you could connect a "Box Brownie" to a computer.

The picture of post 9 is the fire point.
The actual post for flagging/Post chief stands is on the infield as already stated,it`s a great view to watch the racing from, but if they`re gonna come in,they come in hard,as we found out earlier this year.
The one good thing is you have plenty of space behind you to run

I spoke to Tom Jones today. He will try to make the new 18 & 19 better than 10 was, but he is in the hands of John Symes (MSA) and the circuit owner who wants to dump alot of earth to make the bank down from 20. Post 10 has been improved. When they removed the huts at 18 & 19, they were able to take up the concrete bases in one piece, and put them down at 10. I have e-mailed photos to Grandslammer, and hopefully he can get them up for all to see.

Andy i presume that the huts from 18/19 will be going back, to there original positions..(behind the barriers)
Both post were fantastic flag points...especially for the the shanaigans about to happen at the final turn into start finish.... essential yellow flagging point.
Post 18 for the bike meetings is fantastic...the fastest point on circuit,a very good viewing point...with lots of overtakeing.

If there putting new banking down behind that post...will it be open for joe public.......to move down from the chicane.....(i wouldnt have thought so, catch fenceing would have to be built.......costley)

Posts 18 & 19 will be re-built, hopefully in a marshal friendly fashion. Like the bank from 8 to 11, it will eventually be open for spectators, but it will be a couple of years before it settles and grasses itself.
